I recently took my PLAB 2 exam at the General Medical Council, and I couldn’t be more impressed with the entire process. The facilities were well-organized and conducive to a smooth testing experience. The staff were professional, friendly, and incredibly supportive, helping to alleviate any pre-exam nerves. The testing environment was quiet and comfortable, allowing me to focus fully on my exam.

The building itself was magnificent, modern, and very beautiful. The staff was very helpful, greeting me as I walked in the door. I was quickly through security and on the floor I needed to be. The GMC office was stunning, the staff was extremely helpful, and I did not need to wait very long. The whole process was quick, and the person I was meeting was extremely courteous and thorough.

Looks like reviewers are impressed by a building - why would a charity have such an expensive venue? - yet have little to say about the low morals, ethics and values of the organisation that still continue to defend a doctors behaviour even when his legal representation have admitted fault on his behalf in High Court proceedings. Obviously people in Manchester - where the so-called complaint handlers are - aren't living in the real world. just like the folk on here posting pictures of reception staff & spaces commenting on comfy chairs etc. whom seem to miss the point; a bit like restaurant reviews that mention everything you can think of except the actual food! As if decor is more important than human welfare; not in my world!

what exactly is the point of this absolutely useless organisation?

My brother died in hospital due to a catalogue of incidents, which under normal circumstances l would normally say was maybe due to errors, but quite frankly I honestly think that there was more to it, as he was costing the NHS a lot of money. He only left home for what was supposed to have been a half day outpatient appointment and he never came home!

I logged a complaint with the GMC about my concerns, especially after I had already made formal complaints to the relevant Hospital Trust and also the Care Quality Commission, but all of this to no avail.

I really should not have been surprised that the GMC sided with the doctors and the other organisations. Who are they to tell me that they are satisfied with the way he had been treated? How dare they say otherwise, I was with him throughout this period, and this was our reality, I know exactly what went on!

They are all just one big joke, and not fit for purpose, is it any wonder that people are now turning to forums like Google Review and the Press and the Media for support, because we are certainly not getting any form of support from these dodgy organisations. They basically just mark each others homework, which means that innocent patients and their families don't stand a chance against them!

As a woman of colour, I have completely lost faith in the NHS, I just do not TRUST them! I will not be treated by them, unless I am unconscious and don't know about it! As a result , I have now opted for private care, because I am assuming that you will probably stand a better chance of being treated more humanely. However, this really should not be the case, because not everyone is in a position to be able to do this.

Shame on all of you, sack the lot of them!!!!

The GMC refused to investigate reports that someone was performing medical examinations on young girls and sharing them illegally with a non-medical person, funny it happened to be a billionaire eh? Must just be a coincidence though. It always is, and no one will ever be punished or held to account.

Finishing my registration in the GMC today was easy and smooth process .Everybody was warm and welcoming, the receptionist very kind and helpful, great selection of free coffee, tea and-hot chocolate .Be there on time because everything runs like a Swiss clock.
I also managed to attend the Welcome to the UK workshop. I highly recommend for new comers to the NHS as it sheds a light on important ethical aspects and tough decision making , and all what u need to know about the doctor GMC relationship.
The GMC lies on the 2nd floor in an all glass building, you will have to check with the entrance receptionist before u enter the building.

Does very little to tackle medical misconduct - very unfortunate. My whole career has been ruined at the hands of corrupt individuals in the medical sector and the GMC has done nothing to prevent others from facing my same fate.

The ambience here is heart warming. And the free gourmet coffee is a good way to while away time.
