Worse hospital ever the wait time is absolutely ridiculous, you will wait over 6 hours just to get seen by the doctors if your lucky, they have combined two borough so they cut the cost yet they do not have enough doctors to cover the patients. More security staff than doctors, this place looks more like a refugee camp than a hospital. People have been waiting for hours

Incredibly slow and presumably understaffed hospital, spent 4 days in A&E due to no beds being available but unable to leave as I needed an IV and antibiotic drip, then my lung ended up collapsing in that time from being sat in a chair for 4 days, so I had to stay even longer. Patients asleep on the floor in corridors, A&E waiting room stuffed full of people, not enough chairs. Finally got a bed after 4 days (and multiple complaints) and had to stay a further 6 days due to the damage to my lung which was only caused by such a long wait time, ended up missing Christmas. When I was finally able to be discharged there was no efficiency in discharging me, so I was taking up a bed I no longer needed. From the time I was told I could leave and the time I was given my discharge papers and medications it was 7 hours. Like I said at that point I was just taking up a bed, when over 100 people were stuck in A&E in desperate need of a bed, why was this process so slow? Surely they’d want to discharge me asap to clear the bed for the next patient in need. 2 stars instead of 1 only because all but 1 doctor I saw seemed very knowledgeable and on it, and most of the nurses were nice. I will say that the lady in the bed opposite me ended up needing CPR, and the doctors only tried to resuscitate her for a few minutes which seemed like seriously poor effort. My heart goes out to her family as the nurses mentioned her death was very unexpected, so clearly something went wrong there. I wouldn’t return, because the wait times are far too long especially if you’re very ill, if you have elderly parents avoid this place too, there’s very little sense of urgency in an emergency, and if you’re old it’s just not worth the risk with the wait times. If you can make the journey then go to the Whittington hospital in archway, seriously.

I wish I could remember the name of the doctor who saw me on the 17th of Feb around 6pm. She was young with dark curly hair and a very vibrant personality and it was in the separate consulting room just across A&E dept. She made the whole experience 100,000x better than I expected. Thank you so much to her. A credit to the hospital.

I would like to sincerely thank the entire staff at A&E and the ESAC ward on the 1st floor for their professionalism, care, and support during my hospitalization. From my first visit, through consultations with the doctor, to the decision for surgery, I always felt cared for and understood. I entrusted myself entirely to the medical team, who provided not only expert help but also emotional comfort, knowing that this was my first surgery. Despite the initial stress, the entire process went smoothly, and after the procedure, I was under excellent care. Thank you for your warmth, professionalism, and dedication, which made this challenging time easier to endure.

My elderly Dad who lives with dementia is currently a patient at the hospital. I have to give genuine praise and thanks to all in A&E for the best care they gave him despite it being a very busy time with some difficult visitors in the department. All were kind, gentle and very professional. Also a huge thank you to the whole team on S1 ward, who have empathy, patience and kindness 👏🤗👏

My 86 year old dad was in an A&E cubical with 2 other patients for 3 days before they found him a bed. On the 3rd day he had diarrhoea and was sitting in his own mess until I alerted them.
I felt sorry for all the sick people who had to sit instead of laying down on a trolley bed. There was no privacy amongst the patients sharing a cubic. It was absolute manic chaos. I also very felt sad for the staff who were being shouted at. They are desperately short staffed. This government is a disgrace for neglecting our NHS. I blame them!

ive heard that this hospital has long waiting times so i won't even bother going there honestly. if you live in Hertfordshire you're better off going to Lister Hospital or Princess Alexandra Hospital if you live in Essex. i left a review for PAH and rated it 3 stars so it's definitely better than this hospital. in the adult A&E I knew someone who had to wait for six hours to be seen by a doctor. so its not good at all. she also saw people on beds in the corridor which means that the hospital is overstretched.
