Fantastic clinic which seems to specialise in maternity and x-ray. Very friendly and helpful staff, clinic was unbelievably clean. Only downside is very limited car parking onsite and all surrounding areas are resident zones, but it's not too far from Dagenham Heathway station which has great service.

Went there for x ray parking restrictions are bad joke as LBBD prey on the captive sick to raise revenue. Obviously no shame in gathering monies from the sick.
There is plenty of extra spaces at the corner for the provision of 1hr parking bays no return 2hrs which would allow people in need of medical care to attend appointment's.

You turn up for pre booked appointments, and they never see you on time. Always about 30 minutes late than your actual appointment time. It's not like walking. Why do you give specific appointment times when you can not see?
Very disappointing. This is not the first time. Always the same.

Specifically leaving this review for the midwife Sally. She was so kind and knowledgable and understanding. Identified an issue with my c section wound when the junior dr at queens didn’t. Cared about my feelings, took her time to explain things to me in a non judgemental way. Best midwife I met during my whole pregnancy and post birth. Thank you Sally.

Deeply Troubled by Racist behaviour at Fanshawe Health Centre,Dagenham

I am writing this review to express my profound disappointment and concern over an unsettling experience of racist behaviour at Fanshawe Health Centre,Dagenham. As a expecting mother who believes in the importance of equal and respectful treatment, my recent visit left me deeply troubled and disheartened.

During my appointment on 20th May 2024, I encountered an incident that highlighted a severe lack of cultural sensitivity and respect. From the moment I entered the room for my Midwife appointment in the afternoon , I felt a palpable difference in the way I was treated compared to other patients of a different ethnicity. The Mid wife's tone was curt and dismissive when speaking to me, in stark contrast to the warm and welcoming manner other midwifes exhibited towards me .

The most distressing part of my visit occurred when I was called in for my consultation. The healthcare professional [*&**sha], displayed an overt lack of professionalism. Being herself coming from an ethnic community her treatment towards me was dismissive. Their dismissive attitude, reluctance to answer my questions, and abrupt demeanour were glaringly apparent. Despite my attempts to explain my symptoms and concerns, I was met with impatience and a noticeable lack of empathy.As a midwife she has to check my urine sample and dispose the bottle away herself instead she asked me to bend and keep the bottle on the floor which as a pregnant lady in her last trimester a risky thing top do.We wanted to raise the issue then and their itself but we kept calm to be civilised and maintained calm in the health centre

This kind of behaviour is unacceptable in any setting, but it is especially alarming in a healthcare environment where trust and respect are paramount.

As a result of this experience, I left the centre feeling marginalised and disrespected. No one should have to endure such treatment, particularly in a place meant to provide care and support. Racism and discrimination have no place in healthcare, and it is crucial for the administration to address these issues promptly and effectively.

I urge the management of Fanshawe health centre to take immediate action to investigate this matter and implement comprehensive training programs on cultural sensitivity and anti-racism. Patients deserve to be treated with dignity, regardless of their race or background. It is imperative to create a safe and inclusive environment for all individuals seeking medical care.

Until concrete steps are taken to address these concerns, I cannot, in good conscience, recommend this health centre to anyone. I hope that my review serves as a catalyst for change and that future patients will not have to face the same discriminatory treatment that I experienced.I will report this to higher officials in NHS BHR Team and will make sure no one goes thru this kind of stigma at any point!

Rida was my midwife. Always in rush, never listened to me , she is like she has some target to check 100 patients per a day as she checked me very quickly and tried to get rid of me. Very negative person. She has no experiences/ empathy to check pregnancy woman. Always like big head and advise. When I was waiting in the clinic few more pregnancies women said the same , after delivery when I came to clinic she didn’t even check my stitches just said all good. When I asked her to check babies record she was annoyed . Seriously this clinic needs to review her job . I hope your management will take this review seriously. Luckily I was allocated to another woman for rest of my check ups she was nice and very helpful .

I want to thank you to all staff that is working in this Health Centre from reception ladies to midwife, you are so welcome and nice is the first time that I am seeing medical staff so happy doing their job. I just changed my house address and it was necessary to change my midwife also and I get surprised how kind and professional can be a midwife and her assistant 🤗 I am definitely recommending this Health Centre!!!!
