Communication between staff and to patients is poor:
ACH assumes you know where it is, and doesn’t tell you, for example, that it’s on the Number 1 bus route;
The building is hard to navigate if you’re there for the first time, with a complex layout that’s poorly signposted;
There’s no phone signal in the building on the lower floors, and nothing to read whilst waiting;
I wasn’t told anything about the chaperoning policy or whether I could bring anyone with me;
The radiographer had different instructions for the examination from the ones I had, that we were going to start with a less invasive test first, that necessitated having a full, not empty, bladder.
The examination room was rather poorly equipped, and there was no opportunity to see any of the scan on the radiographer’s screen.
The manner of the professionals examining me was very good, though.

Where have all the disabled spaces gone We managed to park on the top layer in a normal space (anything further down would be useless for me as I can't walk far, let alone up steps or slopes!). Couldn't get the parking machine to 'see' my disabled badge and couldn't get anywhere near reception due to thr huge queue so had to pay - which wouldn't usually be a problem as it's the extra room I need for getting in and out of the car. Wasn't able to do that this time so had to block the car park a bit so I could get out, hubby got my walker out then I waited to one side for him to park the car. I like to be independent and go to appointments on my own but that just isn't possible at ACfH😪

Had my second visit to the sexual health clinic today, I'm not normally one to leave reviews but i just felt like I had to because of how comfortable they made me feel and how kind they are there, as someone with anxiety who struggles with talking about health issues, I've never been in a medical setting where I've felt more relaxed. I spoke to Rebecca again today and a trainee with her (I cant remember her name unfortunately) but they were both absolutely amazing and so informative, they really put my mind at ease and made me feel so validated. Thank you so much to them both!

Just rang the sexual health clinic number during quieter hours, said number 3 in the queue, was on hold for over 50 minutes I just gave up in the end. This is a nationwide issue, hopefully AI can replace the task of answering a phone and booking an appointment, that process should take no more than 2 minutes. I can't speak for the actual medical service, which I'm sure are good.

Parking was fine but the receptionist on radiology dept was unfriendly, unwelcoming and unhelpful ( she was even cross I was early) really behaved as if she hated her job!Three other patients felt the same
But the lady doing the bone density scan was smiling, kind and on time .

It really makes a difference when the person you are seeing is nice. I visited the Breast clinic today regarding worries I have with a family history of cancer. The lady I saw was Ruth and from the moment I walked in she was welcoming, friendly and very helpful! She gave great advice which will help put my mind at rest and made me feel comfortable! Thank you… every drs/hospital should have a Ruth

The care side of the hospital was 5 stars however their parking is dreadful 1 star. The machine didn't recognise our number plate I then made an honest payment it then wouldn't print out a receipt so I had no proof of payment. The staff said there is nothing they can do. The phone number on the machine is incorrect for the parking company. When I found the number on Google they told me to pay again quit how that would help when it's not printing receipts. Stay clear if you can.
