I was advised by a gp two weeks ago that I have a telephone appointment today. At fifteen minutes after my appointment time no one had called so I called the surgery. After spending nearly an hour and half in the queue my call was answered by someone from another branch. The unhelpful receptionist advised me that there was no appointment booked for me today. I advised her that the gp and the nhs app both confirmed that I had (I checked the nhs app last night). The very unhelpful receptionist would not help.
I have an ongoing new health condition for months now being in pain daily and to date I have not had any tests to find out the cause.
Meadowside has gone down hill since the recent retirement of two senior gps. Getting an appointment is very rare as all appointments are booked despite the surgery waiting room always empty.

Can't comment on service levels, not been able to get an appointment for nearly 2yrs now!
Have spent the last week trying to get through at 8am every day. Decided to wait it out today to see if anyone actually works there.
45mins later told to sign up to their on-line booking system, who knew! Anyway, don't get your hopes up, that was "full" too.
Disgrace of a"care" provider. Should just shut down so that the rest of us know that they've stopped functioning as a surgery!

Absolute waste of space. No matter what time you call, no matter what day, you WILL be placed into a queue of above 30 people. In fact it’s higher than that. It’s usually 50-60+ but they have changed the waiting voicemail message to say “You are now in a queue ABOVE 30” to not make it seem as bad. Once through after a 2/3 hour wait. The receptionist will become the GP and diagnose you. If they can avoid an appointment, then best believe they will. If they can palms you off to any other source of support, then best believe they will. I hate this GP so much that I actually had no choice but to go and pay for private healthcare. Only problem with this being that my prescriptions are still sent to them as my registered NHS GP. For example.. I have been trying for 3 almost 4 weeks now to obtain a prescription, all the foot work has been done privately. All they need to do is issue it to the pharmacy. However, I am just met with the above phone call queues and then even when though I am just given false promises from the reception to get me off the phone asap so that they can reduce the queue and move on to the next poor sod. Absolute disgraceful mess.

Absolutely the worst practice ever ? You can never get through on the phone ? When you do there is never any appointments ? How do they still manage to be registered as a doctors ? How does a Private company manage to provide such poor care contracted to the NHS ? Absolutely shameful ? If this is the future of doctors and the NHS ? Option 1, go private or Option 2, suffer ? seems the only way forward ?
as this doctor’s practice is totally unacceptable, unsatisfactory, in every way and would be a total embarrassment to any company director be even associated with the place ? I will be moving ASAP ? But no one is taking patients if you’re already registered ? So a little bit of rock and hard place ?

JNR Cars ? Bloody Snap mate 👍 done the same and have the same problem with medication ? It’s an absolute scam ? It should be this hard to get prescribed medication after you have been privately to see a consultant ?

Don’t no how the director’s of this company sleep at night ? Apart from, on a very thick mattress of tax payers cash ?

What's the saying " couldn't run a p!@@ up in a brewery" medication needed reviewing, ordered through request prescription and prescription not put through.couldn't use call back due to work commitments, 3 days of phoning, over 30+ in queue, got cut off. Ran out of meds, so had to get emergency prescription through 111, 5 tablets full prescription price!!! I eventually got through, arranged review, that was 2 days ago, just got a text to say I need a medication review.

I sent some photos in February that were apparently forwarded on to the dermatology team, I have tried chasing this up and told by receptionist they will phone me when they have looked. I pointed out we are now 9 months down the line and was met with silence. The only way I have ever got an appointment was to go into the waiting room and refuse to leave.
Somebody else did this and the surgery phoned the police on them, luckily the police instructed the surgery he was doing nothing wrong and to see to his needs.

Absolute disgrace of a surgery. The receptionist are trying to act like doctors. Take 1 hour 30 mins in the morning for phone to be answered. When finally get an appointment have to wait another hour in the surgery even thought you’re on time. Absolute disgrace.

Just registered. Excellent service from both receptionists and medical staff. It’s a huge improvement on my previous practice. I have worked at a few Medical practices as a receptionist so u know a good service when I find it. Well done
