I'm writing my review for my partner who is currently in rehab at the hospital on ward Campion and my experience is outstanding! Nurses etc are all kind, friendly and relaxed with you. No questions or any help are a problem or an issue with them. They go out of their way to help you without you feeling like you have bothered them unnecessarily. The ward and day rooms are clean and set up lovely. The ward is worth 5 stars and so are the staff 🌟 cannot thank them enough for looking after Martyn ā¤ļø

I would like to thank all on Campion Ward who took time and effect in helping my partner come back home. I cannot thank you enough for all your care and your chats and laughters. It was home from home when I visited. You will always be remembered as a big part in helping Martyn recover and was a true pleasure to have met each one of you and spend time with you all. Many many thanks from Monika & Martyn šŸ’–

My friend is currently a patient here after a stroke. The physio team and her family and friends are being extremely positive and doing everything they can to help get her home..... Unfortunately the treatment from some nursing care proves to be anything but caring.
90 minutes wait to go to the toilet. No shower because they're " busy".
The staff need to be reminded that they are a " REHABILITATION CENTRE" not a NURSING HOME.
Just having the basic needs which is also basic human rights needs to be reinforced with nursing staff.

The receptionist sent me to the wrong area so I missed my appointment. I still had to pay for parking though. So i paid to sit in a waiting room. Ridiculous.

A confusing concept
A rehabilitation for brain injuries yet for most of the day the nurses meet in the patients dining room and chat, play on phones etc.
They only attend patients who call them, many patients don't have the ability so the nurses just serve meals mostly to bedrooms, and serve medication. If a patient can't feed themselves they are not fed and marked as refused. If a patient doesn't understand the medication the nurses do not attempt to try and explain meds or encourage the patients to take them, if not taken medication is left for patient to take.
I see no gardening club or art classes most patients are left in bed all day with or without TV.
There's no encouragement to rehabilitate patients, some who can walk are still in wheelchairs, some nurses avoid taking patients to bathrooms some nurses do not look after the patient who needs constant supervision.
Whilst visiting I've seen patients leave the ward alone and wander freely into other patients rooms or the offices or kitchen.
The meal sizes are tiny or huge depending who fetches your meal.
There's no monitoring of other health conditions that appear, no monitoring of decline in mental health, no monitoring or acceptance that some wards are noisy and disturbing.
Patients under supervision have had accidents or caused harm to others
Patients in recovery facing frustration are often 'cared' for by nurses that do not understand brain injury and can he rude, and shout at patients unnecessarily.
Medicines are not reviewed and injuries not assessed
Very few nurses really care for patients on the ward, most are there for the money and happy to sit doing nothing and do nothing to support patients after dinner time there are no activities and patients are put to bed by 7pm latest even if they are not tired. I've seen the frustration in patients faces when they are wheeled into dining room with their back to TV and spoken to like they are children with no thought or care for what the patient needs, at least 2 patients have discharged themselves due to the poor care here in 2 weeks.

So far and it’s been 3 weeks on the ward and the compassion for the patients is disgraceful, no communication and rudeness from the staff is impeccable. If you ask for help you are penalised. Disgraceful and no duet of care…

My father in law spend there about 4 months .They treat people with no respect and don't care about their needs, especially Megan and Dr Badwan. I've had a hundred of phone calls a week from useless staff who could not provide basic needs to my father. I've been told if the patient has a shower at least once a week it's not that bad .Poor standards and even worst service.

Grandad with terminal brain cancer was put onto a stroke rehab ward. No updates from the hospital, limited/non existent visiting despite RAPID DETERIORATION. Lost his phone. Arranged wrong care on discharge and told us we would have to pay for it. described patient as cognitively sound when patient Absolutely WAS NOT. Didnt order hospital bed for home meaning patient was stuck for another week. Nearly didn't order it the 2nd time. No communication or support at all. Absolutely abhorrent experience. Avoid avoid avoid.
