Most of the Ward 4 staff lack emotion, empathy, patience and some of the other fundamental skills to do this career, after having a traumatic second c-section I was left feeling neglected, forgotten and often felt like a bother. The pain after a c-section is nothing to laugh about not to mention a second one. I was in a lot of pain, and having my scar felt like contractions all over again, but my concern was met with little care and a lot of attitude, they'll tell me if I need anything I should buzz but when I do buzz it was met with attitude and no form of emotion or empathy, I am writing this still at the hospital because the fear of leaving here not getting full check over and go home to have something terrible happen to me, I am in so much pain but I I clench my teeth and lay down as I wait to get discharged and go home with my son. The other department that looked after me was truly amazing, the induction suite and delivery suite were amazing and even though I had a panic attack in the theatre room, the doctors listened to me and I got to meet my son.

Had a very horrible experience with Tara Hale, a rude Healthcare Assistant in Gynae ward. Extremely racist and discriminatory (to the point where I heard her describing other patients and even some of the junior doctors who came at some point in unprintable words). Many people thought same of her (but could not be bothered to highlight same as they just wanted their needs sorted so they can go back home). I once saw a doctor challenge her on her arrogance only for her to snob the doctor and go on to mutter to the nurses who couldn't caution her. I don't know how she got employed but she is a very bad/demoralizing representation of what healthcare should be in 2025 and I hope the management feeds this back to her or reprimand her seriously. I will not be recommending this hospital due to how worthless she made me and others feel during the short stay in the hospital.

The gynae department is a total let down. I've been having appointments for approximately 7 years and ended up having a hysterectomy privately.

Firstly, the gynae clinic is in the same place as the maternity, which can be very distressing.

At each appointment my records were 'lost' I had to go over everything from the beginning. At each scan I may/may not have endometriosis. There was never any follow up and I felt like I was wasting everyone's time. I was fobbed off for 7 years. I was never told what was going on inside my own body.

A private hysterectomy revealed stage 4 deep infiltrating endometriosis. A large mass, fibroids, cysts, you name it. I had been in so much pain but no one at BWH listened or followed up.

Now.....I've had an appointment for pre-op for a hysterectomy. I've called BWH 3 times to cancel but no one answers the phone. I've left a voice message (no reply). Someone else could have this appointment if they ever bother to answer the phone.

I'd recommend any woman to go elsewhere

Very friendly welcoming staff who literally took me to the phlebotomy dept.
No waiting. The blood sucking department shuts at 2pm.
Jon Mills three spikey prehistoric Birds In Trees sculptures in the foyer are truly wonderful to behold.

I’ve been waiting for IVF treatment for nearly over a year now and because of my circumstances I’ve been pushed forward on the list. Now you’d think due to my issues they’d be on your tail but nope. It’s delay after delay after delay, stress after stress after stress. Like they want nothing to progress! I understand there are people in front of me I get that but it feels like they don’t give a toss. The lack of know how and communication is disgustingly bad. Also well known for their big fat lies! Oh “we’ll ring you next week” to which is never happened!! What’s your problem? Like seriously?!! Fertility department do your work and learn how to answer the phone!! We’ve called you multiple times! You don’t even have the decency to pick up the phone when we ring you either!!

It was December 2019 just before Covid hit we decided to push forward.. Then got pushed back and I’ve been waiting for ivf for 5 years now!! Was meant to start last July/August 2023. This is an absolute joke. I was 29 when I pushed forward, I’m now 35!!!!!! What an absolute joke! Also so bad when you get told to ring on a certain day because they tell you to and then don’t have the decency to pick up the phone. They just allow the call to go thorough to voicemail!! 😡

What a horrid place, my wife went in after bleeding at 16 weeks pregnant. They took ages and then told her she needed a scan, advised her to stay but because of our 3 year old we had to go home. Next day we were waiting for a callback for the scan appointment to which we didn't get, we called back to the EPAU who told us because we discharged ourselves we basically couldn't have a scan because we were registered at Bmet hospital. The doctor never mentioned this only that we would definitely get a scan booked in next day. Horrible place with horrible staff

Visited here to see a love one. The English nurses were great, the foreign, not so great.

It was obvious that the foriegn ones received their "qualifications" abroad and were only hired as boxes needed ticking. They were absolutely clueless.

The care and attention received from the British nurses was top notch. The food wasn't too bad neither. Overall, the best hospital I've visited in the Midlands thus far.

The nurses in Ward 8 were absolutely fantastic who looked after me recently when I had to stay there overnight. So friendly and professional and couldn’t do enough for me. They’re all absolute stars. Especially Ella, she is an asset to the team and made me feel at ease from the minute I walked through the doors. Thank you so much
