Not sure what to say. I have had a needle phobia for over 40 years and have been attending this clinic for over two years for regular blood tests and they have always been excellent and will recognise me if they see me.
Today I went with my sister and the receptionist was just rude rude rude. She found my tests on the computer and I explained I had phobia as i normally do and she took my test sheets away with her. I went and sat down with my sister, she shouted over the room "you can not have your sister come in the room"( I have never in all my years been told this and my daughter works in the NHS as a mental health nurse and always comes with me) the other women in the reception said good luck and had their tests. Then the receptionist comes over and says she is getting a nurse to help with the test, then 5 minutes later says she is getting a better nurse to take the blood, I wait and wait bearing in mind I have a phobia and my test should have been 30 minutes ago now. Then she brings a phone over with her manager on the phone. The manager says that taking my blood is a danger to all the staff because of my phobia I explain that they have not even tried. The manager says that I had asked for more than one nurse, I did not and have people in that receptionist room who were witnesses. Anyway, worse experience ever with the NHS. I have never complained before because I know their job is stressful enough.
Thank you to the receptionist for making my needle phobia a 1000 times worse.
Avoid this place.
Just remember looking at the reviews the receptionist looks like they have a problem helping people.

Took my 14 year old daughter for blood test the lady taking the blood didn’t seem like she knew what she was doing in and out with the needle missing the veins and moving the needle around in her arm to find a vein. My daughter is left with a very bruised dead arm probably put her off having a blood test for life!!

Lovely staff here and they’re always so welcoming and friendly even though they’re always very busy. I’ve always had a good experience here with the nurses/reception, however a special mention and thank you to Maria. Very positive lady and loves what she does and where she works, which I really love to see. Makes you feel very comfortable.

I attended this surgery for a blood test. I have had well over 50 blood tests in my life and I never bruise and am constantly told I have great veins. I have no idea what the man was doing who took my blood this time. He clearly needs more training. It was painful!! He took forever and kept mumbling about the blood not coming out (based on the pain I think he’d gone too far and missed the vein), really unpleasant experience and have a rather large bruise to show for it
