Absolutely disgusting place for any residents.

Unfortunately we had no choice where to place my grandmother as she was seriously ill coming out of hospital during covid and the hospital moved her there due to the government’s care scheme to free up hospital beds.

This was the first time my grandmother was moving and living away from family. She was extremely upset and obviously had to isolate for 10 days when she arrived and couldn’t see anyone. We understood as she just come from the hospital but we were told on the phone by the manager of the care home that my grandmother “was the worst one who had come in”. Lovely isn’t it?

Also my grandmother was unstable on her feet due to having a hip operation the year before. In the night, my grandmother pressed her buzzer to use the toilet. A nurse came in and proceeded to shout at her telling her “she’d pressed the buzzer twice” and then threw the buzzer out of reach behind the bed so my Grandmother then had to get out of the bed, could have fallen to get her buzzer.

I’d like to state my grandmother wasn’t confused, didn’t have dementia etc so this couldn’t have been a mix up.

The following day we called the home to speak to my grandmother and found this out from her. She’d made a complaint and no one even contacted us.

We spoke to the manager as we had “requested” and was told we were “sorry” but the woman in question had no complain before so they “weren’t going to do anything about it”.

My grandmother then passed away shortly after. If I could have gotten her out of there we would have but due to lockdown it was near on impossible.

When arriving to collect her stuff after she passed away, we were then pulled aside to be asked to close her account of “£2 for sweets”.

The place hasn’t got the residents best interests at heart. If you want a place where your loved one is loved and cherished and looked after, go elsewhere.
