Overall, we would rate our stay at a 9 out of 10.

The location of this hostel could not be better. It's so central in the city, everything is a very short and manageable walk!

We booked a private room with two beds
and shared bathroom. The beds were very comfortable, the hallways, shared spaces, and bedding were clean.

The showers could have been cleaner, and they need better drainage, but the temperatures and water pressure were great!

The information sheet we received upon arrival had us move our belongings to our beds for staff to clean during the day, but when we came back after exploring the city, the room quite obviously had not been vacuumed.

Temperatures in our room were good and easy to control. Openable windows were excellent to allow in fresh air.

The staff were friendly, and the communal lounging areas and outside courtyard were lovely spaces.

Overall, we felt safe, and we had a great stay!

If we come back to Bath, we will definitely book here again!

Great location, very central. We had a 2 bed room, which was fine, but the corridor smelled really awful. The shared washrooms were also not in the best condition - there was no soap in the dispenser for 2 days and the showers and bathrooms themselves were dirty.
The staff was incredibly friendly though.

The rooms are thoroughly cleaned, in a good location next to the grocery store and the roman baths. In my room specifically the wifi didn't work and neither did my outlet, the showers are a bit iffy as well, but the staff are lovely and have a decent laundry mat along with suggestions and games to play, great for the price as well.

This is a nice hostel with really friendly staff and it's in a great location - very central! The communal areas are nice but dirty with bugs in the sink, uncleaned sofas and litter left behind and not cleaned. The TV is enormous and fab to have but the signal on it is very poor and the sofas are dirty to sit on (bird poo!?). I do believe that new ones have been ordered, however. Also, there was someone sleeping on the sofa during our stay and I presume he's a rough sleeper. There are nice touches in the hostel with recommendations for eateries with price guides, games and a nice outside seating area. However, this was extremely littered and forgotten about. It's a fantastic place to have - use it! ||The room was a nice size with a sink, 2 spare pillows (thankfully) and a good sized wardrobe. There's only one plug socket that's hidden behind the curtain and I didn't know of until the morning when I decided to read the welcome leaflet unfortunately. It was nice and warm with a radiator and a temperature control as well as an opening window with a blind and curtain. It was nice and dark at night. It wasn't however, quiet unfortunately and this is mostly down to the worryingly thin walls and difficult doors to close. The mattresses didn't have mattress protectors on and were incredibly poor quality and thin. After only 1 night, my back was painful and I'm only 29! ||The communal showers and toilets are a good size and seemed fairly clean especially given the busy time of year. However, they are sign posted as use for by only men or women yet both sexes are using all. This for a woman means that the toilets and showers aren't as clean as they should be... ||The breakfast area is a nice size but unfortunately the complimentary weekend continental breakfast is only from March - end of October. I didn't appreciate the lack of cleanliness either and the bugs by the sink were most odd. The complimentary breakfast should be all year round but especially until the end of the year to help the Bath Christmas Market traders that stay here. The communal kitchen also requires more crockery to make it usable. ||ÂŖ2 to leave your bags is outrageous! This shouldn't cost money at all and isn't fair. Neither is ÂŖ2.50 for a towel - that's disgusting!!! If I'd have paid for all the 'extras' then my one night stay would have cost ÂŖ77. đŸ˜ŗ||It's in a fantastic location and staff are very friendly but it's lacking in many areas - cleanliness, services offered and value for money. We paid ÂŖ67 for one night with no 'complimentary breakfast' and communal showers and toilets. This isn't good value for money, it wasn't good quality and it isn't fair just because it's Bath. We've stayed in hostels all over the world and this is very much lacking. ||I'd like to see the management make some changes.

Great location in the centre of Bath, a stone throw away from the main high street. The staff are always available at peak times, and have been friendly and helpful. With the rooms, we weren't expecting much, there was a weird smell in the hallway and the rooms don't have great Internet connection. Given it was a significantly cheaper alternative for 3 days in Bath, I'd recommend.

as always this place is great . clean rooms , friendly staff , great location.

negative points:

heater radiators didnt work in the rooms. I had to ask a few time to get a portable radiator

WIFI can be very sketchy . unreliable

No breakfast ! because low season is not great even when the place was full . teabags, cofee powder and toast would have been great

Had a great weekend stay at Bath YMCA. Good sized rooms with clean shared toilets and showers. Breakfast is included in the room price, but only during certain months (check before booking)! Self-service style breakfast including washing your used utensils. Good value for money with a spacious common area by the reception and a mini garden outside. Student and budget-friendly!
