I needed to see a doctor today due to a bad skin condition. I phoned a 2pm and got straight through to a lovely reception. I explained to her what the problem was and she said a doctor would phone back.within half hour Dr Holland called back and asked if I could go straight away. I was seen by a lovely doctor who prescribed medication various lotions and creams. She sent it to my pharmacy. I collected immediately and back home by 4pm. I'd just like to say a big thank you to all for such a speedy service and politeness of staff.

Ignore all of the people giving the Health Center a bad review. My family were all patients of Goodrest Croft Surgery and have all been moved to Yardley Wood Health Center. The staff and doctors are top notch and very helpful. Could the appointment system be better, of course but other than that myself and my family have never had an issue.

Awful GP surgery. A relative was a patient, you wait 3 days for prescriptions! Then if they are not ready or if there's a problem they don't let you know. So it takes longer. The phone lines are so frustrating, when you call, you wait forever.
My relative was left without inhalers for breathing as they'd had a previous one not long ago!!? It was a constant battle. When I tried to tell them that these inhalers miss match, sometimes work or you need to re-use I was told that nobody else had complained!!!! So I couldn't have one just yet. Disgusting to withhold patient care, it's inhalers, over use wont hurt. Finally I asked to order 2 at a time, long standing copd. Which was less stressful, this was then reverted back to 1 by a doctor, I would seriously be checking the qualifications and certificates of the doctors.
They need lots of training and new staff including some doctors as they are clearly not managing the place.
It's just constant stress!!!!!
The new surgery they have joined have same day prescriptions, at the most next day. They have same day appointments and everything is easy and stress free. They are very professional and helpful.
Take note Yardley Wood.

Also you can officially complain to the CQC , care quality commission, who have the power to rate and make changes to nhs services.

I have been a patient at Yardley Wood Health Centre since moving into the area 9 years ago, I have never had cause to complain about any GP, Nurse or Manager I have seen over the years and reception staff have always been polite and helpful. The covid years were hard on everyone not just patients, it was a nightmare time for Doctors. now we are back to near normal. Thank you to ALL staff at YWHC.

I woke up with the most painful sore throat of my life. I couldn't even swallow my usual tiny pill and my voice was all but gone. I was very distressed. I called and a very kind lady immediately requested a GP call me later that day but minutes later an actual appointment came through by text. I was so relieved I just cried. I've been with this surgery for many years and have always found everyone really nice. Thank you.

Visited last Wednesday, to see a nurse for a routine follow up after surgery, was booked to see another nurse on Saturday; arrived to find the whole surgery locked up, called on Monday only to be told ‘we have no appointments for the rest of the week, go to a walk in centre’ Disgraceful! Spent 3 hours at a walk in centre for a 10 minute treatment that the hospital advised the GP surgery should be doing!!

Response: I understand the systems went down, however not all procedures require a computer and you’re not a walk in centre, so majority of people attending on Saturday would have had an appointment booked, someone could have been there out of courtesy for people, and if you’re prioritising appointments, how is someone at risk of infection, advised by the district nurse that I must be seen, not priority enough other than to turn away and go and sit in a walk in centre for hours! Still disgraceful regardless of the surgeries issues! My procedure is not an A&E requirement but it became that due to lack of management at this surgery! This is not the first issue myself and family members have had. You also lost bandages and other items provided by the hospital and I had to pay for a prescription to replace these, I had to replace something this surgery misplaced!

worst Doctors i’ve ever been to. if you want to get messed around, not get any answers to your concerns and your time wasted on multiple occasions , come here. they don’t get you to see real Doctors, can’t get an appointment no matter how severe you issue is. The receptionist thought that the issues I had with my breast was funny! They tell you to take pain killers for infections and not antibiotics. They can’t even take out blood properly and on top on all that, the place STINKS! never known anything like it. unprofessional joke
