Believe the awful reviews as they are SO true! If I could, I wouldn’t even leave 1 star! The management is totally inadequate, they lie and they try to cover up their many errors. They show no care or compassion for the family members. I’m so glad my dad has moved to a new care home - the care he has received already has been far far better! The only good in this care home are the amazing activity staff - loved them! If you can, don’t send your family members into this awful care home, it’s dreadful! We have lodged two official complaints to hopefully ensure that other families and residents don’t experience what we have had.

Yesterday we moved my mother in law from Willowmead care home.
We turned up, with a suitcase only to find all her belongings, screwed up & thrown into black bags.
Don’t be fooled by the lollies & ice reams, being given for free, we have mum’s receipt’s for those, charged £4.00 for each one !!!!
Since the new manager has taken over, the place has become appalling. Do not let the “good” rating fool you.
This women, is rude, if you make a complaint & have to appeal to outside agencies to help resolve medical issues, because she completely ignores you.
She hides behind her “new team” leader”
The atmosphere becomes toxic.
Mum has broken her hip 3 times, since going into this care home.
You never get to the truth.
A couple of weeks ago, she changed visiting times, no communication, arrived, told to return to our car, as test waiting time went from 15 minutes to 30.Got into care home to be told we can, only see mum for 30 minutes.
Not allowed in mums room, given no quite time with her or privacy.
When we said we were going to contact our MP about this change, a social worker informs us the team leader, with the managers blessing, gave mum a 28 days notice to remove mum to another care home.
Stating, the care home could not meet our 90 year old, mums needs? Assist her to wash, dress, feed undress & put to bed. Her diabetic needs, was over seen by district nurses.
How did they cope with the residents, that needed so much more care
She never even bothered to come into the meeting with social services, to discuss this.
The social worker had to go & find her.
She was not in a meeting, as her newly appointed team leader stated.
We handed, 4 A4 pages over to S/S of genuine complaints.
The eviction was revoked, but, we could not let mum return there, after she broke her hip again, shortly after the meeting.
When I look at the photo’s on face book of this manager, with all her staff, I ask myself, who is in the home with the residents?
I have photographs & written evidence of our complaints.
This care home is all smoke & mirrors, please don’t be fooled by this & put your loved one in there.
Last I heard from one of the carer’s, is she was over heard shouting at the hairdresser, to cut ALL residents hair short.
I well believe that, as she constantly badgered us to have mums cut off & was really rude, when told, that despite her dementia, mum refused to have her hair cut.
There is so, so much more to this experience, since this manager was appointed.
They should have supported the old manager, instead of putting someone in charge, that believes she is never wrong.
At least he loved the residence & cared.

Dreadful care home . Absolutely appaling . The Manager was nasty and intimidating which is why it has taken me so long to decide to write this review. As my husband had no power of attorney she told me that she had more right on decisions than I did. Within 5 days of his admission he had an unexplained cut on his leg ,bruise on his stomach, and was unwell with a chest infection and no doctor called or concerns raised. I brought him home with carers and he is doing well.
The home has had many problems over the years, even once changing its name from Bishops Lodge after losing their nursing . Always excuses for the poor care. This time because of the building work. Local doctors and Social services are aware of the issues and have been for years.

Appalling
My husband was neglected.
He wasn't given drinks, as he couldn't walk to drinks to get his own.
He wasn't cleaned, when he went to toilet, so bad that he was bleeding and couldn't sit down.
He didn't have a shower or wasn't washed . His teeth we're not cleaned. He needs help with all this. He didn't get any help while being in the care home.
I was often told to go into the office when visiting as I visited every day. One day I arrived and nobody was with the residents. I saw dirty incontinent pads on the floor in the day room.
