I have been a patient at West Street Surgery for over twenty years and have always had positive experiences in the past. My doctors, Dr. Price and Dr. Quartly, were excellent, and I can honestly say I never had any issues during my time under their care. Yes, at times it was difficult to get an appointment, but I always managed to find a way around that, even if it meant calling 111 when necessary.

For a period of just over two years, I moved out of the area and registered with a new GP practice in Bletchley. I have to say, they were brilliant—modern, efficient, and very forward-thinking. Everything could be done online if I wished, and their approach to patient care was supportive and proactive.

Unfortunately, due to poor health and mobility issues, I needed to move back to Dunstable to be closer to family. Based on my past positive experience with West Street and the fact that my family are all registered there, I decided to re-register.

So you can imagine how upset and disappointed I was when, at my very first appointment with the diabetic nurse, I was spoken to in such a dismissive and frankly rude manner. First impressions matter, and sadly, the way I was treated has left me feeling disheartened and lacking confidence in this particular member of staff. Being told twice that the NHS doesn't have money to spend on me and that I should only discuss one issue per appointment as there were people waiting, made me feel like a burden rather than a patient deserving of care and respect.

After years of trusting this surgery, this experience was a real let-down. I hope that no other patient has to feel the way I did during that appointment.
Giving two stars , as the receptionist was lovely and professional and Doctor that I later saw the same day also acted in a professional manner.

I have been with the surgery for 4 years now and I am very happy with the services. The reception staff are always helpful and clear, the nurses are good and the Doctors are very knowledgeable. It is relatively easy to get an appointment with a Doctor at short notice and I like the fact that if you can't get a Doctors appointment that week, they still offer you a appointment with the nurse. I would highly recommend them.

I Have been waiting to check in for my appointment and third in que of 5 people. I used the self service screen to check in but it did not work. Very rude lady at reception short blond hair came out of the office and went to the end of the que asked two people if they have an appointment and she helped a lady check in on the self service screen. As she was heading back into the office I pulled her up and said kindly please can u check me in as the monitor did not work for me, and i also have an appointment. She rudely said no if it doesnt work then it doesn't work. I said, you just checked the lady in yet you cant check me in. She was very rude and was reluctant to help me and was so rude, so I asked again until she finally helped me. Train your staff to be nicer to people of any age or race or do not hire them.

This lady has short blond hair, short back and sides.

Ive been with surgery for many years, the doctors and nurses are brilliant!!
I find it easy to speak to someone, get appointments when needed and they have supported and been there throughout the many illnesses I've been dealing with.
Would recommend without a doubt.

Doctor Nazia Shabir, I cannot thank you enough for your continued support over the last 2weeks, went out of her way numerous times to follow up over the phone results and proscribed me what I needed. Thank you Dr Nazia Shabir, you are a credit to the surgery.

Have been at this practice for years and never had any problems. Have had to use the surgery twice over the last few months and both times got appointments easily, used the online message option on the website and was called or messaged back very quickly on both occasions. Reception staff were friendly.

Our last appointment was running quite late but I think that's to be expected anywhere sadly. Dr White was fantastic with myself and my child, we didn't feel rushed and he explained everything clearly.

Compare with other GP this I think is the best . Staff are very polite and helpful, I never had an issues with book an appointment for me or for my daughter. There always will be people to complain, but truly I think this GP surgery deserves 5 stars as I never had any issues with them !

My husband and I generally keep good health but on the occasions when we have needed an appointment to see either a Doctor or Nurse, I can honestly say the staff on reception have been nothing but helpful, and kind.
The Dr's and Nurses have equally been receptive, caring, gentle and giving of their time and attention to us individually.
They work long hours, often maybe coping with many stresses and strains themselves, especially over the last two years, they deserve our thanks and gratitude for all they do....we as a couple are really thankful to have been looked after by West Street Surgery.
