I paid £371 for a one night stay at a supposedly "dog freindly" venue that advertises as suitable for "larger events, gatherings and celebrations". ||Unfortunately we picked a weekend when the Managing Partner was in residence. Regrettably for our celebration the Managing Partner didn't seem to have read his own website as he wanted dogs on leads and music turned down at 9.30pm. The appologies from a number of the staff regarding the conduct of the Managing Partner said it all really. ||We stayed in the Owl Tree Temple which was enchanting, a bit tired for £371 a night, and in need of some basic maintenance such as a leaking kettle, faulty shower head and loose toilet seat etc.. but enchanting none the less. The lakeside walk and gardens were beautful. The layout of the tree houses, cabins and tents within the grounds was impressive. ||The staff at West Lexham are a credit to the venue. All who we met were exceptionally polite and helpfull - especially Hayley, Josh and Catherine. ||In summary - a great venue, a bit over priced, and not really welcoming or accomodating if you have a family and friends event to celebrate.

We stayed in a treehouse for my brothers wedding. The staff were incredible, the grounds are spectacular and abundant in wildflowers. It made for the perfect scale to celebrate their special day. Everyone went above and beyond with requests our group had. Would highly recommend for a large group or event, or even just to have a few relaxed days away in the beautiful Norfolk countryside.

Me and my boyfriend booked for 3 nights in Tinker Tree House. Upon arrival it was clear that the grounds are stunning and well cared for and maintained. The treehouse was quaint and fairytail like, and had been decorated beautifully for my birthday. It was lovely to be able to hear and see the birds as well as the sheep nearby whilst laying on the bed. However, on the first night things went downhill. Really heavy rain started during the night and as one of the treetrunks is right next to the bed I was awoken by rain water leaking onto me, the bed/blankets, all over the floor and bedside table. This continued throughout the night as there was little we could do to temporarily stop the leaking. I had a terrible nights sleep and was left sobbing at 1am as this was not the magical experience I had expected when booking.||We phoned the host line the next morning and was told that an attempt to fix the leak had been made 3 times prior but was unsuccessful. It seems negligent to me to allow people to stay here (especially in rainy England) knowing that the accommodation leaks (especially for £225 a night also!).||On a positive note within half an hour of saying we didn't want to continue to stay in the treehouse and be leaked on for another night a new room was found for us in the barn. The room was lovely, had an ensuit and overlooking the beautiful flower gardens. I had a wonderful 2 nights of sleep without being rained on.||To summarise place itself is beautiful, Tinker Treehouse as it currently stands isn't fit for purpose, new room was lovely but I never had the treehouse holiday I wanted which was the sole reason of visiting Norfolk in the first place.||I would recommend West Lexham but not Tinker Tree House until they successfully fix the leak.

We booked 2 Glamping bell tents a year ago, reading that there was a kitchen garden cafe/restaurant, heated pool, river swimming. On arrival to be told the kitchen garden cafe was closed heated pool was outdoor and heated naturally, we haven't had the best weather so was rather chilly. Glamping this is not, you can't sit outside your tent, the kitchen provided was a walk away, with only one hob, a kettle and microwave, being a family of five would prove difficult to make a meal. When we did have the down pour of rain the kitchen area in the morning was covered in a thick layer or mud, which proved difficult and hazardous even when making our morning coffee, i just dont understand why this wasn't cleared for when guests got up.We couldn't use the indoor cafe seating until Wednesday night as the UN had a conference with catering something again we weren't informed about. It was wet weather and there isn't a laundry room to dry clothes or hangers in the tents to hang clothes we were provided one small airer, again a family of five. We are used to roughing it when camping, this shouldn't be labelled as Glamping but rather camping with real beds as this is the only similarities. So from trying to do a budget holiday this turned into an expensive 4 day trip. To find a member of staff we had to walk all over the site, yes a phone number was provided but we didn't have very good signal, we didn't have a welcome pack that provided us with any information about the site numbers, wifi or surrounding area. Once a member of staff was found, they were lovely and did dry the kids wet swimming clothes. I also must add my boys have been ill following using the pool, experiencing a temperature and tummy upset. We left a day early, as we couldn't, stand being damp anymore as the tents made our belongings damp.

Beautiful location but lacking in TLC. The eco attitude is fine but not when it allows dilapidation and uncaring attitude. Flies so many flies in the village barn, don’t know why? Low maintenance of equipment don’t offer if it doesn’t work get rid! Fire pit - can’t use that one it’s booked! It’s a fire pit? Hosts absent totally couldn’t give a flying fig about guests great if you self sufficient. Shame as could be awesome! With just a little care

The warm, friendly welcome from Henry was really great and he knew lots about the history of the site. Nothing seemed to faze him and the team were great, even opening the swimming pool on a sunny day in early Oct ! ||Cafe and pool are shut in Oct, but river walks and taking the boat out were restful. George and Dragon pub ok, small portions, depending on what you order. ||Loved the clean and cozy Tinker Treehouse for two.. and the log burner… free tea and coffee are nice. ||It’s a short walk.. less than 5 mins to the communal shower and bath block which were really clean and to the communal fridges. So best take a torch. ||Bed clean, comfortable, and fairy lit treehouse, with IT charging points.. bedside lamps… what’s not to like…sounds of sheep, birds all around, owls too, although some military aircraft noise and traffic at times.||Our Mio Shepherd dog absolutely loved it too…and the dog friendly pubs..||We would definitely return.. there is the odd spider but it’s a treehouse built around real tree trunks ?

As glamping goes this is pretty top notch. Stayed in Spindle tent (closest to the facilities and pool, opening up onto the pond) and we (my 7 year old, the dog and I) loved it. Comfy beds, fairly lights and some storage and stuff made it very comfortable. The communal facilities are about the best I’ve experienced - nice showers and very clean (nicely designed too). Pool is lovely and staff all friendly when you bump into them. We ate breakfast in the cafe every day and it was great although the menus was pretty basic. Only opened at 9.30 though and for my 7 year old that was quite late. Shame it wasn’t open for dinner when we were there but to fair it’s not full on Summer holidays yet. The communal bbq area and kitchen are very good though. I have to admit though that the tents are great but we LOVED the look of the treehouses! When we go back (and we will) that’s where we’ll be staying! PS the George & Dragon pub just a few mins away is great and run by LOVELY people and kids and dogs are all made very welcome.
