I have a friend living in this home (self funding) my friend has just been told her fees are increasing by 15%. This makes her fee over £900 per week and I have to ask for what. I have never been there and had to take my jumper off because it’s warm, in fact the opposite is true I’m usual uncomfortably cold, old people eat next to nothing so the increase can’t be explained by food. Maybe it’s the one shower a week she gets that costs so much? I’m at a loss to understand how these fees could ever be justified, the only explanation is profiteering.
Having witnessed the standard of care if frightens me to death to think that I may end up here.
