I have been at this surgery all my life. But in recent years since covid I have never had a problem getting an appointment until then. Recently I have tried their online booking system to get in an appointment and it would not work I was always getting someone will contact you within three working days. I'm sorry that's not good enough. No matter how urgent it is or how an urgent it is people deserve to get an appointment with the doctor. The receptionists don't really listen to you they just want you off the phone as quick as possible. You can hear them laughing and joking and not really listening to what you're saying on the phone. When she asked what was wrong I told her and she said oh we don't do that here. Sorry but what I needed is what you do there I need a doctor. I say go back to the way it used to be and bring back the best receptionist wargrave ever had Roz. She was the best always had time to listen to the patient and always pointed them in the right direction.

I always book an appointment online, and it works well. I don’t wait long before a doctor rings you back, I find the doctors very Helpful and understanding especially DR Claire Jones. She always listens and sorts my appointments out on the phone and is she is very understanding. My bloods are arranged at the surgery on time and Andrea Phillips is excellent informative and very professional.

There have been two incidents regarding wargrave that have left me feeling really disappointed and unheard so I feel I’ve been left with no option but to leave a review to make others aware of this particular surgery. I understand how understaffed and underpaid the NHS are however being blatantly rude and dismissive to patients and completely disregarding there problems is not okay. My most recent issue has involved Dr Jones and after reading some other reviews on here it’s made me realise I’m not the only one to have experienced the lack of care from this particular doctor. After numerous tries and failed attempts to book an appointment all I received was a text message regarding my problem and I wasn’t even given the courtesy of a phone call. I don’t like to leave bad reviews however this is just a message to the surgery to please do better for the sake of patients and yourselves.

This surgery used to be very good. But over the past couple of years it’s sunk. Doctors are stretched and the appointments you make, if you get chance are never on time. These people need new management as the current isn’t holding what the public expect.

Dr Jones very unprofessional, I’d rang early morning for my daughter due to her being very poorly for 4 days by this point. ( she’s 1 years old ) the phone call consisted of her telling me she is exhausted had been working since 8am and had seen many children today and unfortunately there was nothing she could do for my daughter today, telling me if I’m that concerned to take her to a&e, she then promptly said goodbye and hung up the phone. I tried calling back but the surgery was then closed and I was unable to get through!! The next day my daughter finally got an appointment, they was 30 mins late seeing her. Reception staff absolutely awful! No compassion in sight, only did someone listen to me when I started crying to a lady in the waiting room due to being super stressed and frustrated! Turns out my daughter has bronchitis & an ear infection! So is now on antibiotics! The treatment here is disgusting! I really hope action is taken against these people, let’s hope next time it’s nothing too serious!!!

Unfortunately i feel compelled to write this.
The surgery has this pernicious nature of rejecting your repeat prescription with no explanation and no communication to tell you why.
I have the NHS app so i know when they do this, but if you are a pensioner and have travelled to the pharmacy, the first you will know is when it is not there.
This is the third time i have taken them to task on this subject, and the third time "we will review this and put a process in place" it is a case of "please don't piss down my back and tell me it is raining"
Reading other people's reviews, the whole culture of the place seems to be wrong and needs to be reviewed.
Managers of any business are "Cultural Architects".
They set the tone and the ethos, so when you have a business, and it is a business, like this, the senior management team need to be held accountable.

I have had appointments with them. The doctors and the physiotherapist is really lovely. The receptionists, however, are the opposite. This is the 5th time I experienced talking to them and they are always grumpy and irritated. Now, I feel scared to call and I don't feel peace in calling the surgery whether I can see a doctor or not (which can aggravate symptoms). They will talk to you because it's their job but they seem to be not listening with your concerns genuinely (not getting the full history) and just give suggestions such as go to A&E or I can't book you for appointment, etc. I understand those things but saying it nicely will really help. I understand that there are more patients waiting but I am a patient as well with the same level of concerns as everyone else. Even face-to-face, 2 of the receptionist I met seems to be always in a hurry and grumpy. I researched about Wargrave that they were good, the doctors and nurses are ok but the receptionist, sadly, they are disappointing. ?

Reception staff have realised how under paid they are for their medical knowledge and that reflects in their attitude towards anyway that crosses their path. Considering visiting a third world country on the off chance the British Red Cross will give me medical advice as it would be quicker and easier than navigating Wargrave house for an appointment.
