re Dr Simon Wright
I am writing to thank Dr Wright for his help with a long standing back problem of mine. After years of being shunted from pillar to post Dr Wright immediately dealt with me and got in touch with a specialist for me. I will be forever grateful to him for his kindness and quick response to my problem. In my view his is an excellent and caring doctor.

Staff at this superb medical centre do what it says on the tin. Listen, act, take an interest and care.
Mental health care is taken very seriously. I had the very best of care. In particular I was referred by Dr Maycock to an amazing in house therepist with the ambiguous title of “Social Prescriber”. What is a social prescriber? Words fail me in the positive. His use of visual aids and help in understanding how you got to the place you’re in is breathtaking. I am using some of the tools on a daily basis.
If this therapy was the first step in help then the NHS would save millions on therapies with little interaction. Ie counselling where you don’t get feedback or guidance in many instances.
Speaking from years of experience I only wish I had known of this help when I was younger.

What an amazing Practice. Very high standards of care shown by all members of the Practice. I was seen today by one of the Doctors who was very thorough with their investigations of my condition and reassured me that there was nothing abnormal in my condition. Well done Walford Mill.

Terrible. Don’t like seeing patients and just direct to 111. Used to be so much better before covid. But now like so many other GP surgeries they seem to have very little inclination to see patients face to face. Such a shame as was once a fantastic practice staffed by dedicated and hardworking doctors and other staff.

Thank you to receptionist Shana who has been so very helpful in a matter of some urgency. Her caring nature, and taking time to listen and help where she could, was very welcome in a situation that had been so stressful for me. Indeed she is an asset to Walford Mill.

I spoke to someon explained my problem, was told after being interrupted all the time, I needed to speak to a pharmacist and would arrange for them to call me in the afternoon. Explained how bad the pain was & if I thought it was over the counter medication I needed, I would already have done this. Told constantly that I couldn't see or speak to a doctor even though I knew there was something wrong. No call from the pharmacist, when I called they said he wasn't in all afternoon, so was never going to hear. Called the doctors again & complained, they said they were not aware,. Why implement system that doesn't work. Ended up in A&E and havean infection & on two lots of antibiotics. Disgusted by the lack of care & empathy.

I wonder what will happen first: the next human extinction or a GP/receptionist considering their patients as a fellow member of their own species. I have relatives who are GPs and I hear the things they say behind their patients backs and to their faces. They think we are all stupid and cannot fathom that our own health problems are probably down to how fat or stupid we are. Thank you for listening to someone cry on the end of your telephone and deciding to gaslight them, suggesting that I am at fault for not being taken seriously and that I need to bring things up. When I am complaining that your staff ignored a health problem completely just to make a phone call quicker. Thanks!!

Receptionist has no empathy: I used to feel bad about how many angry people they must have to deal with. But their human experience is deadened towards other people. Your job is not to help people, like you said, it is to be paid. Thank you Karen.

Spoke earlier in regards to a doctor who called me from this practice regarding treatment for me to see a cancer specialist (bare in mind I’m not even registered at this practice, god knows why I was called from here in the first place too, and was simply requesting to speak to the doctor who called me earlier from the number I was called on) Was met with rude hostile attitude from Kate the receptionist who wouldn’t pass on my message for doctor Riley to call me back on. Honestly the most ridiculous argument I’ve ever encountered or had in my life for something so unnecessary. Unprofessional attitude and behaviour. Kept trying to access my files which they don’t have as not registered there, and to which is none of her business anyways. Was just a simple request and Message to pass on and call me back on. Regarding my treatment. Unreal.
