Getting an appointment here is a nightmare. If you can't call or use their terrible new online service at 8am you are basically screwed. I called and even stated it was for my sick infant child but they didn't seem to care and just said I have to call at 8 the next day.
I think the switch to a new online system coupled with the huge increase in people living in the area has contributed to this, I know the surgery isn't entirely to blame. and they are up against it.
They actually used to be a great surgery, but it has been on a steady decline for the last few years.

Terrible surgery. one of the receptionists in particular that I have spoken to a couple of times is extremely rude, shows no compassion or empathy for patients or their carers and no interest in actually helping. I personally think she is in the wrong job!! That's when you can actually get through to them at all!! All the doctors seem to do is send blood tests requests and fob us off. 3 days in a row I have requested to speak to someone regarding my dad's health and they have done nothing to advise or help. I am disgusted and if I had my way he wouldn't be with this surgery, they are a joke.

Absolutely diabolical. Communication from the surgery is terrible . Tried using Anima and it partially works at the first stage, however getting blood test results and follow up appointments is extremely difficult. Two calls and an actual visit to the Walderslade surgery I have still been unable to book the appointment the doctor she asked me to book . Today I have waited all morning for the call that they sent me a message I would receive. It didn’t happen . I feel that the staff work hard and get as frustrated as the patients with a system that is clearly not fit for purpose.

Absolute shambles of a surgery. Have a brutal chest infection that requires antibiotics. Do an e-consult at 7.15am. At gone lunch time, a pharmacy from a chemist I don't even use calls me and tells me to come in and buy some cough syrup from her! No joke! I call the surgery direct. An hour in the queue. Nurse calls me, tells me it's too soon to prescribe MORE antibiotics because she didn't see the 2021 date on my last treatment. As in over a year ago. Finally agrees to send a prescription to my chemist. Just gone there, no prescription is there. Or anywhere according to a quick search of my NHS number by the helpful pharmacist. Now back on the phone to the surgery. 21 in the queue. I honestly cannot stress enough, people are dying in this country due to awful medical services like this every day. I'm now facing a hospital trip as I cannot breathe properly. The same hospital we're encouraged to stay away from unless it's an absolute emergency. I'm disgusted. Stay clear if you even remotely need help. You'll find none here.

I am updating my post because once again the staff at the Walderslade Surgery have gone out of their way to help my family, they have never been impatient, or rude in anyway.
Each time i have turned to them for advice they have been very helpful
Once again ladies thank you so much - keep up the good work,
I have just read all the negative comments on his surgery and can only give my personal view.
Over the past few months, because of serious illness in the family i have had to visit the surgery on numerous occasions and have found all the members of staff both very helpful and approachable.
They have answered all my questions as best they can and given me valuable advice.
Thank you Ladies you are doing a marvellous job under very difficult circumstances

Long phone wait times 1-2 hours to speak to office. Once you get an appointment doctor rushes you (4min telephone conversation). All bookings are done online, no human interaction. Perfect example of a money making and cost saving excersise that doesn't benefit the NHS in anyway.

Been a patient on the books all my life. The worse thing to have happened was when Dr Ravel left and it turned into what you see today.

The doctors at this practice are ok - if you can ever get to see one, although my husband did experience a serious mis-diagnosis. However, being number 45+ in the queue each time is unacceptable.
Notwithstanding, my main gripe is with the he admin staff / receptionists / Practice Manager who are, quite frankly, a disgrace. We were treated dreadfully when we moved after 31 years as patients. There were a range of issues including rudeness, conflicting information, incorrect information, appalling grammar in letters, dismissive attitude and poor communication.
In a time when we were all proud of many NHS staff members, it was clear that none of the clerical staff at this surgery deserve any recognition whatsoever. I genuinely cannot speak badly enough of them.
Despite being keen to stay with the practice, it was a blessing in disguise when we found another surgery, who thus far seem much more competent.

When I first registered (a few years ago) this was a great surgery, now it's impossible to contact them, last time I tried I was on hold for almost an hour then cut off at number ten in the queue. Can't even get an appointment on the myGP mobile app. UPDATE: Got the follow up phone consultation today which was what I was attempting to contact the surgery about, so my letters to them weren't in vain.
