As someone who works for the NHS myself (not in this surgery and not as a GP), I understand how challenging it can be to meet everyone’s expectations. That said, I am quite happy with the care and support I have received from this surgery so far.

A friendly suggestion to all patients: Please be patient and calm with the staff. They are already under immense pressure to meet your needs, and I can assure you that they genuinely want to help—it’s a key part of their job satisfaction. However, the nature of healthcare jobs can take a toll on staff, as they’re constantly interacting with people who are unwell or in distress.

Please remember: You are not their only patient. The staff are humans, too, doing their best to manage the high demand of a diverse population, especially in a busy area like central London.

Let’s all do our part to make their work a little easier by showing kindness and understanding.

My elderly 86 year old mother rang the surgery today to request some Antibiotics for a possible chest infection following a week long heavy cold that has left her debilitated. I could tell from the conversation that my mother wasn't explaining properly and that the receptionist was trying to dismiss it as just a cold and asked if she had tried over the counter medication presumably cough mixture (according to the NHS website cough mixtures do not work) I proceeded to explain to the receptionist that I thought it was a chest infection following my own experience as a doctors receptionist and that I wanted her chest listened to please, my voice tone was firm but I wasn't rude, the receptionist decided I was, uttered something about a four minute timescale, obviously hasn't much experience so cut the call leaving my poor mother very upset. Appalling treatment, I want to take it further but my mother doesn't. Just to add the one STAR was only given to enable the review, I can see from other reviews that the surgery has a very poor standing with patients. The sad thing is that we have no choice regarding doctors surgeries, if we were paying then the service would be much better and the receptionists chosen wisely. I was a very caring and attentive doctors receptionist who valued her position and gave 100% to the patients care and listened! I could sleep at night too.

For Reception, nurses and gp and all ther services ☆☆☆☆☆
The one star is for accessibility:
They really need to sort out appointment booking system. for non urgent booking, you need to call in morning at 9am to book your appointment 4-6 week in advance.
When you call in morning the queue is really long and by the time get your turn appointment slots are gone. Its very stressful as even few tries you don't get appointment. Its moking when they send text after blood test for saying book an appointment but when you call there is no appointments available, why would you request to book when there is no availability?

One star is too good. As if there's zero star. DO NOT MAKE TELEPHONE APPOINTMENT with this GP! Totally a waste of time. The doctor called only for couple of seconds. When I tried to reach the table, it stopped ringing. She didn't even called me on time. The appointment was 11:00. She called at 11:21. Then quickly she texted me that I missed her call and would try again shortly. Which took more than 90 minutes to call again. 13:03 she called again. Of course only formality she called me 3 seconds. It stopped ringing before I even held my phone. I asked the reception and she said she was done for today and recheduled my appointment. This is a joke. This will be the last matter I deal with Victoria Medical Centre.

It's disheartening to hear about a medical clinic that treats Arab patients with discrimination. Everyone deserves respectful and equitable healthcare, regardless of their background. Such behavior not only undermines the trust necessary for effective medical treatment but also perpetuates harmful stereotypes. It's essential for healthcare providers to promote inclusivity and understanding, ensuring that all patients receive the care they need without prejudice. Addressing these issues is crucial for fostering a healthier community for everyone.

Been a patient here for 13 years (fortunately not too regularly!) and always had excellent service from all of the staff and Doctors. Polite, prompt and friendly.

Shame about the previous experiences of some of the other reviewers. Hope they get to experience the same great level service that I have had in the future.

The most incompetent reception ever.
They get appointments wrong and don’t understand basic requests appalling all round. This practice needs fully trained and more competent staff asap. 1 star is generous!
