Cannot thank ICU enough from the surgeons who saved my mams life to everyone that looked after her while in a coma. The staff were brilliant and understanding but also there for the family too. Special thank you to Ashley, Meg and Musa will never forget them. X

Childrens AE area. The early shift staff were amazing . The late shift staff are the slowest laziest people on earth. Sick children everywhere and they sit talking to each other about their own lives for over an hour, I was told she just had to read the previous doctors notes. She then sat Infront of her computer and never looked at it once. She instead talked for ages and ages about personal life stuff withe her colligue.we have been in here for 5 hours and I can't see us ever leaving at the pace this shift is working at. If I worked this slow I would be sacked on the spot.

I don't know where all the four and five star reviews for this hospital, come from 95% of people I discuss North Tees Hospital with, like me, only have negative things, to say about it. It's fine if you need A&E or outpatients, and the EAU ward is very good!. That's where the good ends. I have had a bad experience on both Ward 26, and even worse, and more recently, on Ward 27. The basic knowledge of the nurses and doctors on 27, appears to be very limited. I'm not talking highly invasive treatment, I am talking about simple tasks like taking blood samples, and the wrong insertion of a cannula. I am in my 5th week of a huge bruise, through my upper arm, elbow and down through my lower arm. I have never had to put in a complaint to the NHS, but on that occasion, I had no option other than to do so. In addition, communication between the doctors themselves and myself, was appalling. I have been told by those in authority, that should I need to be ambulanced into hospital again, I can refuse to go to North Tees, and in that event, I certainly will refuse, demanding to be taken to either James Cook, or Sunderland Royal Infirmary.

We spent most of today in EAU and I can honestly say the staff went above and beyond to take care of my husband. They took time to explain everything and the care and treatment given was exceptional. An extra special thank you to Dr Kate, Dr Bevan and Dr Govinda. North Tees are very lucky to have you!
