I’ve used ultrasound direct for the abdominal/pelvic area in Chelmsford/Essex. Overall experience was straight forward with the booking, hence the place of appointment was bizarrely held at the office block, not the surgery itself which was very confusing. As it was Saturday morning there was no receptionist but a sign on a door to call a number if you there for the ultrasound. All felt a bit scam like as I waited for 10min before anyone even showed up upon my second call. Sonography has taken around 15min and was done professionally and explained in details. I was told that the full report will reach me same day late afternoon but that didn’t took place. I had to call day after and the lady whom was assisting there said that she will make sure that all is done for me. Again, nothing was sent back to me. Following that I’ve called on Monday to the provided mobile number which wasn’t working! I was already sweating and thinking SCAM all over as I had to pay upfront £195.00 for the whole examination. Hence, I’ve managed to get through to the main customer services team of ultrasound direct which have kindly provided me with my final report and pictures attached.
For the given reasons I’ve underlined here I had to give less stars even though the actual and the most important the overall quality of asked service was up to the expected standards.
If they can actually make this service up to what’s promised and communication skills were returned than 5 stars would be there!
If you disregard the industrial office place and feel of, where the h*** am I, you are in a good hands!

I would like to say a big thank you again to sonographer Tina and her assistant Danielle.I was anxious to start with however they both put me at ease. The service was exceptional as Tina kept me updated throughout the process. I was highly satisfied with their professionalism.

It was smooth and felt professional, partner had an early scan and we felt it was done well and were very happy with the staff and the service, the place itself was clean but was a slightly odd location hence the 4 not 5 star.

Paid £400 for the NIPT & scan. Chose Ultrasound Direct for this because they offer a few “extras for free” with the scan including (quoted directly from the website) 1) “we can provide our opinion about the sex of your baby from 16 weeks during the scan” - when we asked for this during the scan we were told they don’t offer this and if we want to know this we should wait for the blood results of the NIPT (I was more than 16 weeks at the time) 2) ”you can also spend time viewing your baby live in 4D from 12 weeks” - this wasn’t even offered as an option. 3) “3D scans prints” - the sonographer took very limited pictures even though the baby was in a good position. I find it ridiculous that you pay £400 and then need to pay £2 extra to access the images which ended up being so few and disappointing anyway. Overall the sonographer was very unfriendly and unhelpful with answering questions. This is our first baby and it was an unpleasant and disappointing experience, especially given the price tag. The Sonographer made us feel like a nuisance and like we were annoying her. I’ve also had bloods taken a lot in my life and she was very inexperienced struggling to get blood. Won’t use Ultrasound Direct again.

First time at this practice and not a great experience I’m afraid. It took several attempts on both arms, without success, to draw blood and in the end I told them to stop trying. Sore, bruised arms afterwards. I have bloods taken every few months and I have never experienced this before. Usually bloods are taken on the first attempt, only once did a nurse require a second attempt. In the end I had to find an alternative practice to take my bloods (and they did so quickly and on the first attempt). I won’t be using this practice in the future. They didn’t seem to be very experienced. (Also no surgical gloves or handwashing before attempting to take blood). In the end it was a wasted trip which left me feeling like a frustrated pin cushion!
