I dare to say my dogs are getting better service with their regular flea and worm prescriptions. Avoid if you need to handle regular prescriptions or frequent tests when managing a chronic condition. The admin is absolutely dreadful, one has to call them multiple times to get very simple issues sorted. Reception staff often makes no effort to understand the situation and just sends you to infinite circles of admin hell. Really a shame because all the nurses and doctors are very good.

abysmal service that perfectly represents the deteriorating quality of the NHS. Near impossible to book an appointment and front of house staff are virtually unintelligible. "Fill in the form and the doctor will call", I get a message two days later saying they tried to call - yet, no miss call. I call them immediately and they continue to insist the doctor is not ready to review my form yet... so why send the text?

Totally inadequate service.

Trumpington Street Medical Practice is a complete failure in delivering basic general practice healthcare. The only way to request an appointment is through a cumbersome and time-consuming online form, available only during a narrow window in the morning. There's no way to speak to anyone directly, and filling out the form can take up to 30 minutes, requiring you to compress critical information into 500-character boxes, leaving little room for accuracy or detail.

Despite being registered with this practice for two and a half years, I have never once seen a GP in person. The process is so inefficient that I had to subscribe to an online doctor service just to avoid this disaster. Recently, I had an ear infection, and my online doctor advised me to see my GP. I spent 30 minutes filling out their form, only to be forwarded to a pharmacy, where the pharmacist refused to diagnose the issue, as adult ear infections are outside their scope.

I was then contacted late in the day and asked if I could come immediately, which I couldn’t due to childcare responsibilities. They rescheduled for the next day, but when I arrived, I was informed that the doctor had called in sick, and my appointment had been moved to another practice an hour away. This was all without prior notice, and the receptionist admitted this happens frequently—unacceptable for a healthcare facility.

I canceled my appointment and will now be arranging medical care elsewhere. The system at this practice is so broken it borders on negligence. This is not just an inconvenience; it is a critical failure that could lead to serious patient harm. The practice is in urgent need of an inspection by the NHS to review its operational inefficiencies, as patients are being left without proper care.

If you value your health, stay far away from Trumpington Street Medical Practice

I have been under this surgery since 2018 and I never had any issues getting appointments or prescriptions. Doctors are very understanding and helpful.

I recently moved to this practice and so far my experience has been incredible.

The team got my registration processed within a few hours and I was able to immediately make an appointment for the following week.

Given I left a different practice where I had requested the same appointment and had nothing after 4 weeks the contrast having moved feels like all those at Trumpington Street / Clay Farm Medical Practices moved heaven and earth to help me.

Furthermore, having checked-in at one and discovered I went to the wrong practice (my fault) I arrived late and the medical practice still made every effort to see me.

In addition, the rest of my family has had a great experience as well - not just recently but for the last 3 years.

My named GP, Dr Teo, could not have done more for me during my illness last Summer. He rang me at home several times and brought me into the surgery for checkups and tests. He has always been responsive and tries to bring hospital appointments forward if he thinks it necessary. When there was a problem with my medication, he reacted to my message immediately.
I witnessed my friend in considerable distress in the surgery and a male receptionist could not have been more concerned and helpful to her. I was genuinely amazed. Beyond the call of duty.
All nurses have been friendly, helpful and approachable .
I cannot praise this surgery highly enough. They should win an award

General flaws of NHS. If you get to see a doctor, the service is good. But the communications are terrible. I use the NHS App because is more convenient than the phone, but the app can get a bit ridiculous as well. For instance, I contacted 111, they called me, and they told me to speak to my GP. So I sent a message through the app, & I got this text message from the GP:

I can see you have already spoken to 111 regarding this. So please continue their advise.

😅😅😅 Their advice was to contact you 😂😂😂 I’ll continue self-medicating myself 🤷‍♂️

More often than nor, I get no reply when I contact through the app, though.

Would avoid unfortunately. Doctors and nurses seem good but the organisation and operations are terrible. They have adopted a new system where you can only book an appointment (even urgent ones) online but there you call and there is so much inconsistent information provided and quite rudely. They also repeatedly sent me to Trumpington village surgery, which is not what I expected registering with a central Cambridge GP... Have since reregistered at Newnham Walk, will see how they are
