I have had to call the practice 3 times in the last two weeks.
Each time the reception staff were excellent.
1st time I was advised a Dr would call me back within 20 minutes all sorted.
2nd time got an appointment within 20 minutes and again today got an appointment straight away I could even pick my time.
I've had nothing but praise for ALL the staff these last few weeks, well done, credit given where it's due ?

3 weeks ago new gp practice (because ours was shut thanks to Starmer) the new surgery won't book you with a gp, they book you in with a nurse that so far, without even seeing me, questioned my 15 years asthma, because she couldn't find that in her records, never mind I was diagnosed in Abu Dhabi and then in Brighton and until 2 years ago my asthma was so bad that I was blue lighted to hospital often. None of my medical conditions are being treated at all. These people are trying to cut funds by endangering us patients, please be careful.

The waiting times on the phone are ridiculous, not just at 08.00 but later in the day. The average time I have waited is 40 minutes. Also, I have been number 10 in the queue at 08.00 less than 10 minutes to wait, to be told all the appointments have gone
I do not recognise that this surgery is safe or good for the people of Todmorden.
Not all the staff but a few need to re train in their customer service skills!
It's about the people of Todmorden, not them or figures of statistics. They need to have an unannounced visit from CQC.

I see that they've had a lot of negative reviews in the past but I've been with them for a couple of years now and my experience has been good. I've never had problems getting an appointment for me or my children. I've seen them for a wide range of issues and I've interacted with quite a few of the staff now and 9 times out of 10 have been very pleased with their bedside manner. The nurses and healthcare assistants especially are wonderful.

1pm. Number 19 in the queue with same drawn out GP message every 5 seconds. And there is supposed to be an option for a call back....it never got offered. This situation is horrendous!

Since the introduction of the new telephone triage system, getting an appointment is no longer a mad rush at 8am that usually results in being asked to call back on a different day.

Admin (at the point of inital contact) are efficient, empathetic and direct questions purposefully. A GP reviews the triage whilst I am on the call and determines if a telephone call or face to face appointment is needed. In many cases, it has circumvented the need for an appointment as the GP has been able to resolve the issue based on the initial call (eg. prescription enquiries).

All in all, would reccomend this surgery
There are more GPs and clinical staff than when I joined as a patient in 2021 and the difference in appointment waiting times has improved noticeably.

Since records and prescription requests have been made available via the app, I have been able to locate info and carry out tasks that would normally require me to call in or attend.

I feel that this GP practice has responded to patient feedback and issues affecting all practices, very well and in an innovative approach that takes advantage of the technology available, whilst still offering support to those who are less tech-savvy

My only bugbear is/was the length of the recorded message when you call in. However I have since found that hitting '1' bypasses it and takes you straight to the options menu.

I know many people complain about doctors and the NHS in general but I have nothing but praise for this practice. They have always tried their best for me and I thank them.
