I had stayed last night with my girlfriend, for my birthday. The hotel on entry is very pleasant. As we was greeted by the receptionist, last night she was very unhelpful, or welcoming i thought this was not very professional, when we asked were the room was located and needed help filling out the forms. The room itself was nice. the bed and bathroom was really nice. We both didn't like the carpet in the room. it was old fashioned and slippery could do with updating. Overall the receptionist in the morning was nice along with the other staff. I would rate it 4/5

We got married here on 23.08.24 and it was the most amazing day, all of our guests commented on how beautiful the venue was and how good the food was. India was amazing from start to finish, she was very responsive to emails on the run up to the wedding and she was fantastic on the day making sure everything ran smoothly, she really did make our day completely stress free. All of my family have commented on how amazing she was. Sean and victor were also fantastic the staff go above and beyond to make sure you have the best day.
We are so glad we chose The wrightington hotel for our wedding day, we could not of wished for a better day it was perfect. Thank you so much for everything.

I arranged a birthday party and was absolutely delighted with the whole experience. The staff couldn’t have done more to help plan and deliver a fantastic evening and overnight stay. The rooms were great and really spacious which was lovely as many of my guests had travelled long distances and appreciated a comfortable space. An excellent venue. Well done.

Our welcome on our 1st night was amazingly friendly and helpful ?
The hotel is very clean, the toilet smells so fresh.
Has 2 separate bars depending on your mood. Prices are reasonable, and service is fast and welcoming ?
Woke up in our room feeling refreshed from the night before and walked down to the breakfast area, smart, clean, and welcoming waiters and waiting staff.. no waiting around, straight to a table of our choosing.
Lots to choice from the breakfast bar and drinks.
I went for the traditional breakfast and my partner went for the slimming world friendly dishes.
This afternoon, we hope to use the spa area and pool. I will update the supposed to be highly rated.
Tip, When booking, ring the hotel for rates to get the best deal.
Price match if you find a cheaper rate.
Would I use this hotel again.. yes, a big 5 star on everything.

I don’t even no where to start with this review. But Sean the wedding coordinator is absolutely amazing and is a credit to the hotel! We’ve just had our wedding there and I couldn’t have imagined it going any better and that is all down to Sean and his team. I was a very stressed bride and he made so at ease and ensured of everything. He made all our grand parents feel so special which was amazing.

The whole weekend was amazing and i couldn’t be more greatful. Thank you so much for making our special day so special!!!!

Just arrived home from my Daughter & Son in laws wedding| Saturday 14th September 2024 |Throughly disappointed with the room we was allocated. When we booked for my daughters wedding there , we were told we would in room 121 . But on arrival on the Friday given 141 .and what a disappointment the was .The curtains hanging off the rail the lamps were so dull had to have the all light ‘s on . Friday night the the room was so cold , when we returned after a meal in the restaurant . We couldn’t work out how to work the heating , it did say 27 but I was freezing cold . Came to have a shower only 1 small tube shampoo ,1 tube shower gel for 2 of us .There was ,tea ,coffee, 3 small sachets milk , no sugar . Sunday morning there was no hot water for shower / shave . |On the Friday when we arrived I did I inquire why our room have changed and were told ( don’t know why ).On the day of my daughters wedding I had to go to her room for hair , then back to my room to do my makeup them back to daughters room for pictures taken with the Bride and bridesmaids . But with such a long walk between rooms and and at 75yrs old ,me having problems with walking .I missed the champagne and the photograph with the bride and bridesmaids .So once again I had to return to my own room again to get ready for the wedding .On my way back to my room I stop as I passed reception for the umpteen times as my legs were beginning to give way . I said this is absolutely ridiculous have to walk all this way back and forth .Itbwas a new lady on reception she asked what room i was in ( 141 ) and she said The Mother and Father of the bride should have been in a room near the bridle party , not on the other side of the hotel . |The food in the restaurant,,and the break fast were excellent All our friends that came to our room said it was disgusting.compared to their rooms .By the time I had to meet the bridle party in reception 1-30 pm , my legs were so sore and painful to walk . The room situation completely ruined the day of us to our only Child’s wedding day .|I would not be recommend the Wrightingtons Hotel & Health Club to any family or friends .At £135 per night and then Sunday morning we had to vacate the rooms by 10-30 to drive home . So then you also have to think about drinking and driving .| Disappointed ,Lord & Lady. Stamp .

Cant comment on on rooms as didn't stay over but absolutely wonderful! Had a facial which was gorgeous and relaxation room was lovely. Afternoon tea was yummy and the shot of tomato soup at the start was so good I wanted more! Used the facilities afterwards which again were really relaxing. Only down point was not enough staff about near the restaurant to assist but a minor thing compared to a lovely day, thank you.

We stayed at the Wrightington Hotel for 3 nights recently and loved the room we ended up in. On arrival, after a tiresome 5-hour drive from London, on checking in, we were told we would need to move rooms the following day due to some work being done to some of the rooms at the weekend (with no explanation as to what). We were not impressed to hear this and the receptionist assumed we had already been notified about this (we hadn’t been notified). I said it was extremely inconvenient as we were going to a wedding the next day and would be leaving around 1pm and as we were due to be there till Sunday why couldn’t they have allocated a room in a different part of the building in the first place? The receptionist was very vague about this and I got that it wasn’t actually her fault but it was not a good start to our stay. We were told we could pack up our stuff and leave in the room the next day and they would organise for it to be moved. We were not at all impressed with this suggestion, especially as we both have Louis Vuitton cases and did not want to risk these being damaged. We had no choice but to accept that we had to move the next day and went on to our room 117 which was a bit of a walk from reception and down a half flight of stairs which was also a real inconvenience as we had our cases and suit and dress bags. The room itself was pretty bleak and we were both also disappointed that there was no mini fridge in the room nor even a basic bottle of water which we generally expect (and get) in even a 3-star hotel in the UK. |Anyway, we decided to try and make the best of a bad situation and use the swimming pool/sauna, etc. Within moments on entering the swimming pool area, our eyes were stinging from the excessive amounts of chlorine. Hubby went into the pool and used the jacuzzi and steam room and sauna, but I couldn’t bear the fact that my eyes were watering which in turn made my nose run and I had to get out of there. I went back to reception and saw the same receptionist; I was planning to ask to see the manager about the room change situation but asked the receptionist if there was any way we could move rooms the same day rather than unpack and repack the next day. She apologised for her vagueness earlier saying the rooms where we were booked in needed the water pipes fixing over the weekend. At first she said there were no vacant rooms available and then said there was a twin room but had assumed we’d want a double room. I said I didn’t care, and that we’d take the twin room. Armed with my new room key, I informed hubby that we had a new room and that we were going to move asap. The new room was upstairs but at least accessible by a lift. The room itself (237) was much nicer than the first room (I was told later it was an upgrade), this room didn’t have any water or mini fridge either and to make it worse it had a bathtub you had to climb in and out of to use the shower (the previous room had a walk-in shower). |Quick tip – make sure you take your own shampoo and conditioner and the shampoo and conditioner in one that they provide is not very nice and take your own body lotion too as none is provided! Our tea/coffee was not topped up during our stay, but we had enough to last us even if we had to request extra milk sachets from reception. Now I’ve mentioned the negative points, on to the positive stuff!|The beds! They were SO very comfortable, it felt like we were sleeping on first class clouds! The room temperature was easily controlled - so we kept it on the lowest setting (17 degrees) and keeping the windows open also helped keep the room at the perfect cool temperature for us. We had 3 amazing nights sleep on those lovely beds! |We were eating out for the wedding and other nights in the evenings so didn’t experience the food in Bennetts Bar & Restaurant on the premises but had a few drinks in the bar and found the staff to be over and above with their service, especially the lovely Karen, who was super welcoming and friendly. We found the staff to be very accommodating when we asked for ice for our room to keep our water cool and they were happy fill up an ice bucket for us and even supplied us with little tongs to use!|Quite a few of our wedding party were staying at the hotel (including the bride and groom) so a couple of nights we sat in the reception area after 11 (which is when the hotel bar closes) and the reception team were happy to provide drinks for us from the bar and didn’t say anything at all when the conversation volumes were a bit louder than I imagine they would have liked. The good thing about the reception area is that it’s in the middle of the building and the noise didn’t travel to the hotel rooms so hopefully we weren’t disturbing anyone trying to sleep. |Also, I thought I’d mention when hubby used the pool and jacuzzi on the Saturday, he said the chlorine levels were much better and said the jacuzzi was the best he’d ever used even in the best hotels we’ve previously experienced!|The car park is large and easily has enough parking for all guests. I’m not sure how the spa can be accessed by disabled guests as I didn’t see a lift (assume there must be one somewhere). The housekeeping team we encountered were very pleasant too. |I’ve only deducted one star from my rating due to the issues I mentioned earlier on which gave us a bit of a sour start to our stay. All in all though, it’s a nice hotel and friendly staff and seriously - those beds are super comfy especially if you’ve been out all day at a wedding or event and cherish a good night’s sleep.

Go up
