A lovely village pub.
Food was hot and delicious and the bar staff was very polite and friendly (she made a fuss of our mini dachshund telling us that she'd recently got one of her own)
Our only criticism is the actual pub was freezing cold on a cold, damp day, with lots of draughts from the poorly fitting sash windows and didn't feel like the heating was on. Not what you need on a cold and wet January day when one of your party is a frail 90 year old.

Please see attached a recent menu. I had a lovely experience having dinner at this pub/hotel. I chose the sausages and mash for dinner. I was pleasantly surprised that it came with vegetables, as sausage and mash at other pubs I've been to doesn't come with any vegetables. The service was good and very quick. Didn't have to wait long for the food and drinks. Food was great. I definitely recommend visiting here.

Rooms and services were ok, but the rooms were dirty, especially the bathrooms, there was mould everywhere. I didn't want to shower and dust was everywhere in rooms you can tell they haven't been cleaned properly just the bed made.

Downstairs in the pub the kitchen was closed so we had no food and again all glasses were very dirty.

But the young girl in pub was helpful.

Good location in Great Yeldham, near to British Spirit Distillery. Small menu, food all good, brilliant entertainment from the chef quite a character. Worth it just for her performance!!!!!

Stayed here for the night with my Husband as I has booked for us to do the distillery tour down the road and this was the closest place to it and luckily they had space. I was a bit sceptical because of the mixed reviews, but we were pleasantly surprised. For what it is (a room behind a village pub), the bed was comfy, it had an ensuite and gave us free WiFi. We had dinner in the pub which was nice, plenty of parking and the breakfast was lovely. Would be happy to recommend and if needed to, I would stay again. Couldn't hear any noise from the pub, or people leaving it from our room. Dog friendly pub

Awful place, awful people, beer ok. Swearing, sexual talk, shouting m, not the ideal place for a nice afternoon drink.

The food was not only delicious but also highly recommendable. Whether it's for special events or just a casual visit, we definitely suggest checking this place out!
