Appalling. Receptionist are abusive and shout down the phone at vulnerable patients. left in tears simply for requesting medication that has been on repeat prescription for approx 15 years. Wait time for appointments is a month. Disgusting. Go elsewhere.

I have read all the negatives on here and totally disagree. I have always had a good service yes difficult to get through sometimes but the same for all surgeries. The reception staff always pleasant and friendly and Dr Stringer is a lovely gp very easy to speak to and really listens

I had concerns re the Covid19 Vaccination.
The receptionist arranged a telephone appointment for a gp to ring me.
Dr Andrew Thurston.
I am allergic to aspirin and have other underlying health problems and I had genuine concerns as to how I would react.
With the exponential rise in Myocarditis, Heart related Health Issues, rise in Cancer and SAD....I needed his Expert Knowledge and Advise.
Unfortunately, he was not aware of the ingredients and 1st ever mrna technology, under experimental trials.
He wasn't aware and wasn't prepared to comment. This was extremely unhelpful to me!
Why is it acceptable for a gp to put the phone down on a Patient with legitimate and grave concerns about a Medical Device?
I am allergic to aspirin and I need to be reassured, with Medical Knowledge from a Professional, I am led to Trust!
Very very let down....?

Got to be the worst Drs around, AVOID. Missed a phone appointment due to phone blocking number, unbeknown to myself, rang again explained the problem ask if they could ring the home number, told too late missed appointment ring again for another appointment in morning or ring the 111 emergency number. There was a home number which the nurse practitioner could of used but common sense doesnt exist, would rather another emergency busy doctors be contacted instead. As far as Im aware a appointment is roughly 5 to 10 mins per patient, so 10 to 20 seconds used by dialing number, what happened to rest of appointment time. This Associate Practitioner Nurse was basically playing god. Only wanted a prescription would of taken 2 minutes, just being awkward, I know she wouldn't have extra appointments given because you can only ring in morning and get a phone appointment if your lucky. Absolutely disgusted with service they should be ashamed of the shoddy service they are providing at Blackrod. It was bad enough before the Covid excuses. Where are all the Drs I ask, probably at the Westhoughton practice. Reception staff very helpful. Thanks One star due to not being able to post with no stars

From Practice home page to repeat prescription process ,far too complex. Local pharmacy requested some considerable time ago that I complete a form so that my prescription goes straight to them. No idea if this happens now as communication is zero.
