So now they just hang up on you if they don't know what to do.
I called and asked if my cancer treatment made me qualify for free COVID test (at the pharmacy - the NHS website says to call your GP). And they decided to just hang up on me.

Called literally 130 times this morning before even being offered a call back by an automated voice. I waited over an hour for a call back to be told I couldn't book an appointment for today or tomorrow for my son. It has been suggested that I turn up before the GP opens in the morning to try and get an appointment or to go to urgent care!

I'm frustrated because I just want some antibiotics prescribed, and I don't want to waste time at urgent care. I just hope that the urgent GP appointments today have been allocated to patients who actually need them.

My partner has had gout for 3 years (duration of our relationship) and I’ve over the past 24months it has been almost everyday to the point where it is now disturbing his work-life and our relationship. We have been going round in circles with these doctors. “Lose weight, eat less, rest, take these tablets”. He has done everything possible and they just aren’t bothered. He has had another ongoing issue that they have just shrugged to. I was at his most recent appointment and was absolutely disgusted with the way they dismissed his illnesses. Instead of asking us to patient and wait in line, Maybe do more and do better. We are not just numbers. We are humans.

I have had enough of this surgery, can't get an appointment, I had a bad episode of cystitis recently and couldn't get an appointment , after a few attempts the receptionist took the details
and someone rang me back not sure if it was a doctor or not , asked me questions and said I don't want to give antibiotics over the phone go to the emergency room , I went and sat for 4 and a half hours for a nurse to check my urine and say I had a bladder/kidney infection and give me antibiotics, not an emergency room issue the emergency room at the hospital should be for emergencies. This was the second time I had been sent to the emergency room , the first time was by a receptionist who said a doctor here can't treat that , normally if you ask a receptionist a question they say I'm not medically trained yet that receptionist decided one of the doctors couldn't treat me ,maybe she has no faith in the doctors either , it was an issue again that should have been dealt with by a GP not the hospital. The cystitis has not properly cleared and I asked if I could have a follow up course of antibiotics, I was told I would have to see the doctor , still haven't seen one , no appointments. Also I went for a blood test last week , routine because I have a lot of medication for various conditions. The surgery rang me Tuesday the 17th October to say I need to make an appointment to see the nurse regarding my blood test , they said the first appointment we have is the 9th of November, so something has come up in my blood but I can't get to find out what until the 9th November over 3 weeks away , it's a disgrace. Had this problem before , had a blood test and realised noone had phoned with the results and so I phoned them , it had been six weeks since the blood test had been done and the receptionist said a doctor hadn't looked at it yet . If a doctor doesn't look at blood test results for 6 weeks that in my opinion is dangerous as previous reviews have stated .The surgery have a long message on the phone saying how many professionals they have and you may not need to see a doctor , obviously you can't see a nurse or other professional either . Louise the warfarin nurse is very nice but apart from her and the other nurses it is an appalling surgery. I will be changing surgery asap.
As others have said the surgery are constantly trying to get you to go to Leyland, I live in Chorley and should be able to see a GP in Chorley.
I have now moved to another surgery.

Very difficult to get the telephone answered, 90% of the time it goes straight to the engaged tone and not the queue. Which suggests that the telephones are unplugged. The patient portal only offers few of the many self-help options advertised on screen in the surgery. You are limited to the type of appointment you can book. For example, you cannot book a blood test even if you already have a bloods form. Ive been into the practice during office hours and there are litterally nobody in the waiting area, yet you cant get an appointment. I personally think that the GP's are working between The Leyland practice and the Chorley practice. Who knows?
Doctor's ignor what you tell them, and i know the staff do get abused overvthe telephone, but some of the staff are rude. Others aren't and will go out of their way to assist you.

Update: 30 Jul 2023.
Another fail by this surgery.
I needed a GP home visit for my elderly mother, who is also at this surgery. When you call the surgery, you go to the out of hours answerphone message, It says go to the website.
Unfortunately for patients there isn't a website currently up and running. It's taken me 40 minutes to get though to 111 and I'm now waiting for a clinician to call me back whilst I wait and edit this post.

This practice needs to up its game drastically, and the ethos should be, 'We can do better...' I have given what started out as a brilliant practice, 2 stars and that's being generous.

The worst organised doctors surgery anywhere... no one answers the phones.. you can be sat on hold regularly for 30-40 mins. you can never see the same GP twice. It seems its only locum doctors are working here, who only do 1 day a week.. If they are doing any tests, they will not contact you with the results.... you have to chase them for the results.. when questioned about this "Thats how we do things.." An astonishingly poor GP practice, that could be bordering on dangerous.

Practice manager does not respond to emails and will never come to the phone. Rarely a dr in. They send you to leyland even though I live in Chorley and I’m disabled and struggle to get to leyland! When I ask them about previous medical information for a child they still don’t have previous information despite us being here for a few years. Refuse a 5 year old an appointment time that they have available. Lie to your face. It’s actually dangerous and should be investigated. Avoid at all costs if you can. If you do get to see a doctor the one doctor they have is nice and helpful. However the rest are locum doctors and do not generally want to do much…
