Have been a patient at Speedwell for many years and have continued to receive a good service from them. Even post-Covid , I have always managed to get to see a Doctor , often on the same day & so I have no complaints about getting appointments. I have occasionally emailed the surgery re queries and they always reply, once in a few minutes which was particularly efficient.

(I always opt to see any Doctor when making appointments so that may help, I would guess you may have to wait longer if you want to see the same GP).

Would definitely recommend the practice.

I’m still a fairly new patient as this GP Practice and so far my experience has been nothing but positive.

Yesterday, I had my smear test which I waited months to do due to being terrified however Dr Tanya Brazza was the most kind, most helpful and supportive Dr I could ask for. She made my experience so comfortable and relaxing. Thank you Dr ✨

Sad to leave just two stars as I had an extremely positive experience when I saw a nurse at this practice weeks ago, but I've just had a really disappointing experience with one of the doctors. I came in as I was experiencing facial swelling and said that it could be connected to the contraceptive pill I was on. The doctor dismissed this outright, but could give no other explanation for the swelling, and facial swelling is listed as one of the possible side effects of the pill (Gedarel) in the leaflet.

I said I thought it must be this as I couldn't attribute it to anything else and I consistently experienced the swelling 3-4 hours after taking the pill (never at any other time of the day/night).

I also told him about other side effects of the pill I was experiencing and said I was considering getting the coil instead, and would he be able to answer some questions about the procedure of insertion? I understand that I didn't go in specifically to discuss the coil, but it's an extremely common procedure and I assumed he would be able to answer my questions. He could not answer a single question about it, responding with 'I'm not sure', until he eventually admitted that 'he didn't really know' anything about the coil procedure. He essentially asked me if I had considered googling it. When I asked about anaesthetic options, he said he didn't think there would be any as 'it's uncomfortable but shouldn't be that painful'. I have multiple friends who have said the insertion pain was the worst pain they had ever experienced.

It showed a complete lack of knowledge in a very important area of women's health, and I don't think that you should have to book an appointment with a female nurse or doctor to speak to someone about the coil. I think all doctors should have a baseline of knowledge about the procedure, whether they are female or male.

My mum was a patient here for 25+ years and the practice has been supportive as they can be. Sunil from Reception is particular someone who stands out for his consistency in dealing with any queries, he is an absolute delight to talk to and will often go the extra mile to assist you. Mum had to be forced to join another practice as she moved to a care home and we miss Speedwell for many things.

Over the past year, the reception service at this GP practice has significantly improved. The reception team is helpful and kind to patients. Sunil goes the extra mile to connect with patients and bring a smile, even on a gloomy day.

The electronic system works seamlessly, streamlining communication and appointment management. The doctors are equally commendable, showing practicality in determining when an in-person appointment is necessary versus managing concerns through online/SMS communication. The practice is highly responsive, thoroughly addressing issues until they are fully resolved, which provides a sense of peace and reassurance.

Couldn't be more helpful. The man at reception in particular is always super friendly and helpful. Across all of our visits they have been quick to get us an appointment and/or provide us with quick information from the doctor and about our next steps. Great communication.

Good experience today. I phoned up reception for some blood test results. I was third in the queue and spoke to receptionist after about 5-10 minute wait. Receptionist manner was very helpful and accessed my results quickly.

I have nothing but good things to say about my gp practice. As long as you go online first thing in the morning to fill in an econsult as often by 9:30 they are at full capacity.

Otherwise every query I have raised is swiftly dealt with and they are always helpful. The staff at the front desk are amazing and always help solve my problems. My daughter has monthly prescriptions and they are mostly dealt with quickly.

Thank you for your amazing service
