I am a new patient. Just registered. Came to reception today to discuss some issues. The glass divider blocks the sound. I was trying to speak into a device, but I struggled to hear anything back because the hall was noisy. The device didn't work very well, so I had to shout my d.o.b and my name. What about the protection of my personal details
The receptionist said she could not see the result of my CT scan which I was after.
I asked to talk to the pharmacist. She sent me to Boots. Looks like the practice doesn't have their own pharmacist. Which is a red flag.
My appointment with GP was book in one month. Leaving in pain 1 months for me is a long time. I asked for appointment on the day if I make it over phone. They said it is only for new issues.
I asked for at least a phone call from my GP. She could book me in 3 weeks time.
In the morning I spoke to a wonderful lady called Debbie who had empathy.
But the lady in the afternoon didn't have any interest in a patient who is in pain. People like that shouldn't be working in medicine.
It happened on 14/11/24 at approximately 2pm.

I am therefore trying for find a new practice, but it is not easy.

My old review was deleted.

I was with this practice for years before without any notice they kick me off from being a patient despite the surgery manager agreeing to keep me on as a patient despite moving.

Honestly it has been a blessing in disguise. I had elevated levels in my last blood test, the doctor I saw after Dr. Harrington retired, told me it wasn’t anything to worry about. I had my blood test done early last year due to medication and that elevated level flagged again. My new doctor at my new surgery looked into it and I had further testing. Turns out I have liver disease. I also recently discovered my gallbladder is full on gallstones, which also caused some blood test levels to be heightened with inflammation.

I know we are stuck with the doctor surgeries in the catchment areas so I recommend you really vouch for yourself, especially if they refuse to do further testing. After all it’s your health on the line and I felt like after Dr. Harrington left they just want you in and out without listening to their patients.

So thank you Rycote Practice for kicking me off from being a patient a couple of years back as at least I have a doctor now that listens and follows up on odd blood tests.

I have nothing but praise for the Rycote Practice. After all, it's not the easiest of jobs. I rang this afternoon with a query about taking some medication. I was contacted by telephone and reassured by Dr Faller I was doing the right thing. A big thank you to all at Rycote!

Dr Chang has the nicest way about him with our 2 year old. He is so kind and caring and treats both parent and child with such a wonderful warm demeanour. Thank you for putting my mind at ease

I’m incredibly grateful to the entire team at the Rycote. Since Covid the pressure remains relentless and this team are doing their very best to keep up. Sometimes easy to forget that our Doctors, Nurses and Reception teams are human too - I have an enormous amount of respect for the sustained pressure they are all under - and despite this, they still do everything with kindness and a smile. 🙂 Thanks to everybody.

I have been registered here for as long as I can remember. Obviously times have changed but I have always felt safe in their hands and feel a genuine compassion from everyone in Richards team.

I can’t fault the Rycote practice in any way. I’ve been with them for my family for 10 years now and the care they’ve given to each of us is exemplary.

Reception staff are polite and helpful. I’m always called back or given appointments when needed.

The doctor and nurses never make you feel rushed and seem to genuinely care about all aspects of your health and wellbeing.

I feel very lucky when I hear what friends of mine experience in other counties.

I have been with the practise quite a few years now, and despite the national situation with GP practises and difficulties getting appointments, have found them helpful and friendly. The 2 GPs I have seen, Dr Geyton and Dr Blakey have both been good listeners and come up with appropriate treatments. I am grateful to have a local surgery like this.
