This pub used to be our favourite and has been for 45 years. Boy had that changed. Pre-ordered and because the menu is ‘weekly’ what we ordered wasn’t what we received. When we complained we were told we should have asked. Apparently it’s in the small print. When we complained staff they didn’t care. What a shame. This used to be a great pub.

5 stars are not enough for the Red Lion! We were staying nearby and came for dinner with our dog. The food was absolutely delicious, especially the homemade pie and sticky toffee pudding. Really generous drinks portions too! The staff were also really lovely and welcoming and very attentive. We loved it and will visit again the next time we are nearby.

We had a visit to the pub after reading food reviews online about the food. Food was insane although the wait was just as insane. If you have time to kill and are happy to wait for quality, then absolutely|Visit. We had very hungry kids and it was hard at times to appease them.

On 20th December 2024 I was celebrating 10 years of running sewing classes in East Haddon - and Christmas. ||14 of us went to The Red Lion for lunch.||Timing - perfect|Service - immaculate|Food - excellent, and all the hot food arrived at the same time|Dining Room - we were in The Library - delightful, airy and very comfortable venue.||Chris, the Manager, could not have been more helpful. A lovely venue, excellent service and very good food! We will be returning…..

Massive thank you for Chris and his team. As local to the village to come to the pub on the resent 80’s night, it was great. The energy and atmosphere was fantastic. We ate and all our food was lovely. We are looking forward to the next event night. Great to see the pub buzzing again.

I’ve always enjoyed eating here and have done on several occasions. However, I was startled by the decline in standard of food and the waitress’ attitude was especially poor for a service job. We came in for early lunch, one had the fish and chips that looked frozen and the curry was very underwhelming with the potatoes barely cooked. Even though there was only two others in the pub it took 20 minutes to bring us some fresh drinks. Perhaps a bad day at the office? This used to be a destination pub for me living 25 mins away but shall not be hurrying back.
