This magnificent building has been wonderfully restored and well worth a visit. Unfortunately, quite a lot of shops weren't open but I bought an amazing jumper in the Jitterbug Jean shop. The sourdough toasted brie and onion chutney sandwich at The Bakery was amazing. Pity I didn't have room for one of the delicious looking cakes.

Visually, the Piece Hall venue looks amazing, especially after dark. It's essentially a large courtyard surrounded by sandstone Georgian warehouses. Beautifully lit, it's open air, so sound quality will vary depending on conditions. AIR sounded pretty good and the gig looked stunning. All the staff were super-helpful and friendly. Halifax is a lovely town, btw, and everyone seemed friendly to talk to.
If I had a quibble...I'm not convinced the balcony tickets we had were worth the extra cost. Yeah, you'd stay dry if it was raining, but the balcony is just a fairly narrow corridor overlooking the square and quite far back from the stage with no seating. If you go to the bar or toilet, chances are someone will have nicked your spot by the time you get back Also, £16 for a pint and a vodka and coke from plastic glasses is a bit of a liberty. Toilet provision is very limited for balcony users. There are 4 or 5 individual toilets that were unisex as far as I could tell, and there was a queue at the end.
Apart from that, I think this is a great venue and lovely to visit during the day. Really nice shops and good food.

I visited the Piece Hall on my way home from Leeds, and I wasn't disappointed it is a marvellous structure. It was a lovely place to wonder room and visit all the lovely shops and to have a meal in the sunshine. I would recommend this place if you are near by.

Despite the wind and rain we went to the Christmas markets. The shops were lovely and it was busy but it was well worth a visit. Some incredible independent shops and some local traders in the stalls in the square. Well worth a visit for the markets or any other time.

Visited on a recommendation and we were not disappointed. The building and courtyard are lovely and the views from the top level is fantastic. We attended when the Christmas market were on so it was busy but it was still easy to get around. The small shops are nice and the shopkeepers are friendly. Even at lunchtime there wasn't much wait for food and the kids got straight into the helter skelter. A lovely day out with the family.

It’s been quite a while since I visited the Piece Hall - and the first time since it’s been restored. Fabulous place with lots of little shops to explore across each level from traditional sweets, candles, to vintage goods. There’s even an escape room. A number of places to eat, drink and soak up the atmosphere. If you do have a chance also visit the Halifax minster which is beautiful too. Here you will find examples of mouseman furniture. No charge to enter the piece hall. Forget shopping malls these are the places we should support. Go visit the rest of Halifax town too. Beautiful old buildings.
