I give one star primarily because of the behaviour of the reception staff. Either they are not trained on how to deal with Asylum Seekers or Vulnerable people or that they do not just care. Makes me wonder if it is a coping mechanism for the reception staff because maybe visitors from the Holiday In Express are generally rude or abusive to them. But I had to find out from experience about 4 times that I am always left with a bitter distasteful feeling after talking to them.
They are dismissive, abrupt and argumentative and sometimes you wonder if they are not really the ones that have traumas and mental concerns than the already vulnerable, asylum seekers that go there.
Back at the hotel, I have had to also learn that people there, don’t at all view reception staff in good light which invariably can make some hesitate going there. It is like the reception staff have a hatred for them and so go on the defensive attack from the get go and just being quarrelsome, even when there is no cause or basis for it. Contrast that with how nicely you get treated when you get to see the professionals that you are actually there to see. The Doctors, nurses paramedics and all. They are very helpful and considerate.

If I were the head, I would send the entire reception staff unto a training or retraining programme or workshop, on how to deal with vulnerable people (asylum seekers / people with immigration matters from the hotel) or even transfer them all and bring in people that can actually deal with vulnerable people, to cater for the many that come from the holiday Inn Express Hotel.

I've had some tests a month ago, the test centre sent the results for them more than 3 weeks ago and I still have not heard anything back. My patients access have not been sorted for 2 weeks now. On the phone they said they will be in contact. It is hard to believe after 3 weeks waiting.

I don’t usually call the doctors due to anxiety from the very rude receptionists but I was in agonising pain today so I waited for an emergency appointment from 8am and got a call finally at 6pm I missed the call as didn’t think they was going to bother calling today and the GP left me a message to call the GP back if it was urgent, which it was.I was waiting by the phone all day!! I call back and I have to deal with a very rude receptionist (which I was expecting) who said I wasn’t on the list even though I was trying to tell her about the text message I received and she was saying “can’t help you sorry” and constantly talking over me so I couldn’t explain let alone get a word in! I asked her politely not to be rude and if she could at least listen to what I’m trying to say but no, kept repeating several times “sorry can’t help you” and hung up. In the end I had to call 111, who helped me straight away and I was seen within 30 minutes. - it shouldn’t have to come to that. Receptionists need training in how to speak to patients, as a medical professional myself I just can’t believe how the reception staff speak to the patients it’s appalling. From now on I won’t be calling for an appointment il just have to hope I don’t get too sick!

This surgery was fine under the old doctors when it was at the oldsurgry they would take time and listen to you. I liked the old open surgery you new when yòuŕ Doctor was on so you could be guaranteed of seeing your own doctor I always was in the queue at 730amto see my doctor first they did more work in that surgery than the huge building they have now. I've driven passed it regularly and would see Dr Duxburys light at 11pm and here car parked outside, still working. You will never see that dedication again. Maybe the GPS. Salary should be based on the patients they actually see there would be more people seen and let's have full time doctors not the part time ones we have now

Very pore service. Receptionist asking why we need to see the doctor. Has nothing to with them. Thats private. And having to wait for the doctor to phone you first, just to see if they want you see you or not. I'm deaf , so very hard to what is being said on the phone. I was called in to see a doctor. So I went to them. Stood around for over 10 minutes. The whole place was completely empty. Doctors really that busy?. I had no choice what doctor I sore. Definitely not a good doctor's practice.

My partner and I were at this practice for 2.5 years and honestly we cannot fault it. They have a surprising array of services for a local doctors, for example: their physio-therapist is excellent and their nursing team are very skilled and qualified to help with a variety of ailments - you'll be surprised. The staff are all friendly and helpful. During COVID times all the staff worked so hard and in really difficult circumstances to still provide a great service. I still had great access to a GP if I needed it (24 hours), and the phone appointments are in some cases far more convenient for me. Its a shame we have moved away, you set the bar high for the next surgery! Thank you all.
