Nice setting and great potential. Changing rooms, pool and spa area in need of serious refurbishment. It feels and smells like a high school gym. In the 5 years I've been a member, paying over 3k GBP annually (including a recent increase), I haven't seen any visible improvement to these areas. Even small but necessary improvements like fixing shower knobs would go a long way. Shower stalls are worn, dirty and smelly, ceiling in changing room is disgusting and the spa area looks like a 1970s bathroom that is need of a serious cleaning, better yet, a complete refurbishment. The investment in these areas would help significantly with retaining and attracting members.

Very expensive and increasingly hard to get into any classes. The Lensbury is actively seeking new members while existing members are increasingly just paying handsomely for the privilege of being on class waiting lists. As an example, there are on average a couple of reformer pilates classes a day, with only 8 places available. The waiting lists are often oversubscribed stopping at 20. There is no reason why they can't put on more, there is demand and a dedicated suite, apart from pure greed as the Lensbury doesn't want to pay the teachers. So, so poor. I wish I had never joined. I can't justifying paying the huge fees for the tiny number of classes I get out of it. Save your money, go elsewhere.

Lovely couple of days away staying at the Lensbury Hotel. James the member of staff was very friendly and helpful at a late lunch. Wonderful buffet breakfast with omelette cooked to order. The gardens and swimming pool are what makes this hotel a special treat. Highly recommended for families due to friendly staff and family friendly facilities.

Lovely place to meet friends and the leisure facilities are on the whole very good. That said, we now walk down the road to The Anglers for lunch as the quality at the Lensbury isn't good enough.

Pizza below was £9, and despite the presence of a pizza oven in the restaurant, was not apparently freshly prepared.

On check in we were told that our room is in an outside building in the car park which was no better than student accommodation. The twin room was small. Air conditioning did not work. Window only opened to a minimum. The "resort"should not be advertised as a spa in any way! Pool was fine although lots of swimming lessons going on. No beds by the pool. There is a small room off the pool with a sauna which was broken and a steam room and two beds to lay on in the dark! Breakfast the first morning was okay but the second morning most areas were empty and we waited 20 mins for a poached egg which didn't turn up so we left. Not satisfactory at all for £200 a night for bed and breakfast. A complete rip off! At check out there was a queue of people complaining about the accommodation in reception only to be told there was no management to deal with us until 3pm on that day. Completely unacceptable.

So arrived today and have to say a lovely place and setting . Although check in at 3pm the receptionist facy her name I believe was ever so helpful and polite plus the other lady with the auburn hair colour was very supportive. I will do another review to add to this at the end of my stay 👍🏻👌🏻💯

Having been a member for 10 years I enjoyed the club very much until it was sold in 2019. Since then it has lost it's premise of being a friendly members club. Now with egotistical management with a pompous attitude.

I wrote to the management after the restaurant manager shouted at my friends and asked them to leave the club and I didn't even receive a response. Finally year later after complaining again the new manager did get back to me to say he would look into it, and I haven't heard from him since.

Very sad that such a beautiful spot with great heritage has lost it's way. So many members have left as staff members have been rude to them in the work area or restaurant area. The staff at lockside are the original staff and still very friendly I have to say.

Apart from that the club is very mediocre in many ways and I wouldn't spend another penny there.

Poor experience, pompous and would not recommend this establishment to anyone.
We are here visiting our daughter son in law and granddaughters. Important time in their life’s journey. Unfortunately, this place certainly put a stop to that. Big Time.

We have been travelling through Italy Milan, Portofino, France Saint Tropez , Saint REMY De Provence and The Cotswolds Lords Of The Manor. Not once at any of these fine establishments had we been treated poorly or refused service.

Maybe here at this Pompous Establishment called The Lensbury Club could learn a thing or two. To embrace Hospitality, Customer Service and to welcome Grandparents, Poppi and Nannie who have travelled over 16,000 klm from Northern Tasmania to see their grandchildren.

Being kicked out of the cafe area was a disgraceful act considering our daughter and son in law are members. Maybe as you read this narrative you might get off your pompous high horse and implement a system of positive change. Allow grandparents to enjoy some benefits.

Based upon my observations of this establishment. It doesn’t come close to our expectations that are practical and functional.

Look forward to your thoughts.

All the best
