It's not until life hits you with a cruel blow do you begin to understand the genuinely amazing people we have working in our care system. My wife is 46 our youngest son is still at school and she suffered a stroke whilst arranging her father's funeral. Blind in one eye and totally paralysed down her left hand side we thought we were going to lose her. 60 days on she is in the Laurels rehabilitation unit and learning to walk again. The dedication, care and genuine consideration she and we as a family are shown is unprecedented. Nothing is too much for the management or staff and if it can't be done they find a way to make it happen. My wife is our world and we would not consider leaving her anywhere else because we know 100% all of her needs will be met and she will always be treated with the best care and respect. My brother has been living in the Laurels for the last 6 weeks after spending 4 months in Peterborough hospital after suffering a stroke. When he was transfered here he was unable to walk and care for himself. In the short time he has been here due to the dedicated staff and care he has been given he is now able to walk and has made very good progress.
We have every confidence that the progress will continue due to this caring teams good work.

The Laurels staff go above and beyond to rehabilitate their service users.
My partner was with them for almost four months.
When he arrived, he’s spent four months in hospital having suffered multiple strokes. He was left to atrophy and was completely institutionalised. He was bed ridden and left to lay all day in a gown and incontinence pads.
I was so amazed when I arrived to visit him after he’d been there for one day. He was dressed and sitting in a wheelchair!
His needs were multiple, requiring social, cognitive and physio therapy.
Every aspect of his life was catered for.
The staff are competent, professional and caring with great humour and kindness.
They treat the whole person. On top of which they were very supportive of myself. I visited most days and observed the interactions with my partner and other residents. It was lovely to see people progress and especially go home.
My partner arrived in a wheelchair unable to stand! He left by walking out of the door and climbing into the car by himself.
We can’t thank the Laurels and their amazing staff enough. My partner especially wants me to mention the lovely home cooked food😋

Visiting brother in law ! Found the staff were amazing and very caring ! From physiotherapy to all needs for patience ! a clean modern home with all facilities provided by the lovely staff ! Don’t know why people leave awful reviews it’s a great place !

My Partner and mother to my son lived in this home for 2 years rehabilitation. She’s leaving the place in a lot worse condition than she entered 2 years previous. They arranged and moved my partner to another county over 80 miles away, without telling anyone. Leaving me to turn up for a visit (80mile round trip) to find they had already moved her to Cambridgeshire. The new management in this place is terrible, I feel sorry for all the hard working staff and the patients suffering under this new management.
