From the easy purchase to delivery of a fabulous vintage dressing table: Charlotte helping arrange free delivery when my van had to come off the road, to John and Mike helping bring it upstairs after timely arrival, I’m deeply grateful and full of appreciation for this treasure-trove, whose real gold is, of course, its people.

The first place like this I've ever felt truly at home. A cafe where I'm not rushed, a kid's area where I'm not stressed for my toddler, a toy shop where my toddler can get excited but my heart doesn't sink over the expense, a furniture store where I can fall in love with something and thrill over the bargain rather than being excluded by the cost (and as a side effect I've learned how to clean up and do basic antique restoration!). A walk along the canal, a gallery space to browse and connect, amazing collection of cycles, but most of all the only place I've ever really felt relaxed and welcome to visit no matter how I feel. No obligation, no feeling like I'm under a spotlight or judgement. Space to breathe. I was blown away when I learned that the long table even pays proper, above minimum wages to all its staff! I assumed they were really well trained volunteers! They put every other hospitality business to shame. I sincerely hope losing their current buildings is not the end but a new beginning because council/government/business groups should be lining up to support, expand, and learn from this amazing organisation.

Essential place and in same building as the Long Table.

Constantly updating stock both on site and online. Always a bargain to be found amongst a treasure trove of items.

All reasonably priced and doing such good for the local community, offering reduced prices for people referred and in need.

And situated in the beautiful golden valley in Brimscombe.

A great place to donate unwanted furniture and find cheap 2nd hand furniture and bits & pieces. Today we bought a metal weathervane and a lead toy policeman! Spied an Ercol-type dresser there. Not our cup-of-tea but it was perfect and would be a great addition to someone's home.
