What a wonderful old pub to stay a few days to visit South Wales/Barry/ Gower area. The room that we had was spacious, clean and well laid out. The new landlord of only 3 weeks when we were there was extremley helpful and nothing was too much trouble. I am confident that he will make a success of his new venture. They have an excellent dinner menu and the food is of a very high quality. Daily continual breakfast was included with a full English breakfast served on the weekends. I will certainly stay here agin when I return to the area and can highly recommend this establishment.|Give it a go if you enjoy staying at a good pub in a small friendly Welsh village,

We had a wonderful experience here over Easter 2025 just after the new manager/owner (who was delightful) had taken over. The food, atmosphere and service were exceptional. So worth the drive through the dark lanes on a wet night. Weโ€™ll be back every time we are down. Thank you!

So location isnt the best, need to drive down country lanes to access.
Service was 5 star. Very friendly and helpful.
I didnt stay in a room so cant comment
Food: Sorry but the chef needs to know the difference between a rare and medium cooked steak, it wasnt very nice.
Decorative: The pub needs some TLC and also having 5 stools at the bar just restricts anyone wanted to order a drink or enquire about the menu.

One of the best Sunday roasts weโ€™ve ever had. The chicken was literally falling off the bone, the gammon was thick and tasty and the veg was cooked to perfection. Iโ€™m coeliac and the boy behind the bar checked with the chef to make sure what I ordered could be made gluten free. All of the staff were wonderful and weโ€™re already planning to go back. Thank you all!
