I’m so glad I switched to this GP surgery. They are very quick and efficient, when you make an e-consult they call you back within the next 2h ( to me always within 1h) and give you appointments straight away. I am really upset that I was hard to breathe on 30 Jan 2025. Then I went to Octapharm to buy an inhaler. The staff told me that I needed the description. I just been in UK for a year I didn’t know about this. So that I went to my GP Homwell in the next room and told the receptionist about this. She asked me to do online booking for the appointment. But the online booking was closed already at 4pm. And the receptionist asked me to come tomorrow. I told her I can’t wait untill tomorrow as I can’t breathe now. She said that she can’t help on it. And asked me may be call 111 to ask for help. She can’t help me. When I call 111 there are a lot of choice. I asked her what should I choose to ask for help. She said again she can’t help. It was really joking me. I can’t breathe and hard to speak at that moment. Then I went to Octapharm to get help. The staff asked me to talk with the receptionist again to get help on my emergency case. And asked the receptionist to call a nurse to just for a look and help. But the receptionist still refused me. And asked me to contact 111 by my own or come back in the next day. The receptionist is really joking me and helpless. I understand that they have their policy. But the receptionist is really stubborn to settle the emergency case or may be she thought that I was increasing her work load and waste her own time.

Really nice receptionist. I was in the queue on the line but kept the position and managed to get a call back fairly quickly. Really pleased and had an appointment booked straight away in a week time for a routine check.

Absolutely horrific. Cannot give me my 5year old sons blood test results and will not chase it themselves have told us there is nothing they can do. Several calls to 2 different hospitals a chemistry department and a haematology department all telling me my doctors surgery are the ones that have to request the results and I have no rights to request from them. We are left with unknown blood results and no resolution.

What a joke this surgery has become! I’d put 0 if I could! Call in the morning, no appointments, told to call at 12:30.. called literally 4 minutes before and they would not book an appointment, had to call back at 12:30.. then took 25 minutes to get through to the automated service for it to tell me the surgery was closed for staff training between 1pm & 2pm.. so they can’t book appointments 4 minutes early, but they can switch there phones off 5 minutes early.. call at 2pm.. 20 minutes trying to get through.. 3 times the automated voice answers then rings for 6-7 minutes & cuts me off.. send husband down to book in person to be greeted with rude receptionists & a refusal to book my young daughter an appointment, because guess what, they don’t have any AGAIN.. despite the fact 111 told us earlier today,that her symptoms mean she needs to be seen within 6hrs by her GP & made a note on her file with regards to this... now we’re waiting for a GP or most likely a nurse to call us, to tell us what we’ve known for hours... She needs to be seen.. let’s face it, that could be any time between now and never!!!
Will not have any hesitation is filing an official complaint, absolutely appalling service from a surgery that used to be top notch!!

I cannot thank the Homewell Curlew Practice enough for their incredible support during my recent illness. From the initial diagnosis, to getting me into hospital urgently, to the wonderful after care. I cannot thank the staff at the practice enough.

I always manage to get a same day appointment if I need one, but if not can usually book one online within 2 weeks. I've found the receptionists helpful and polite and the doctors knowledgeable and explain everything to my understanding When my partner had a mental health crisis and I took him to QAED the follow up appointment was made the next day and the GP gave him all the time he needed as well as referral to AMHS,. Also myself when I had cancer was able to choose which hospital I wanted to go to.

Impossible to contact by phone. Almost impossible to get appointment, then is two weeks or more in future. Reception staff vary from good to shockingly awful.
Doctors changed frequently. Stayed in all day because doctor wished to talk to me - received no call! Heard nothing since.
Once in appointment, doctors usually good.
Nurses always good. Was a great practice once!
