One of THE absolute best decisions I have ever made was to make a reservation at the Clavadel to begin my post-operative rehab for a total knee replacement. After 3 nights in hospital I was resident at the Clavadel from 7January 2025 for 7 days. The accommodation, all the meals, the staff (every single one of them), the always available care, the physiotherapy team and facilities, were exceptional - outstanding in fact. I cannot find enough appropriate words to thank everybody there who set me up on the best platform from which to continue my journey of recovery!!

Everything about the Clavadel is wonderful. As soon as I arrived after a total knee replacement, I felt safe and so well looked after. The physio and hydrotherapy got my rehab off to a great start. The food was delicious and the care exceptional. When I went home, I felt confident and ready to take on the challenges ahead. Less than 4 weeks after the operation I’m out and about without crutches and walking my dog (short walks at tbhe moment!) If you can get a booking, take it!

Excellent care kindness and lots of help! Very much knees and hips. I had a shoulder replacement so the physio is minimal
as it should be in the first six weeks. I wonder if when others go to hydrotherapy if perhaps patients with shoulder surgery should do some
walking therapy . The afternoons were lonely and felt time was wasted

The Clavadel was the perfect place to rehabilitate and relax after hip surgery. All the staff from the reception, nurses, cleaners and physios were endlessly helpful and enthusiastic. The Hydrotherapy was especially helpful. I came home after 5 days with excellent mobility and was very confident that I would manage the stairs in my 4 storey house. Now at 6 weeks post-op I hardly remember having a hip replacement!

The whole package of excellent physio, good food, professional nursing staff and a lovely environment meant I could focus on my recovery. My mother has been at the Clavadel for nearly two weeks now and is due to return home this Friday.
The place is just amazing. The rooms and facilities are wonderful and the staff are nothing short of superb. They look after their clients so, so well.
Thanks to all of this and some amazing physiotherapy, my mother has made a really good recovery in a safe and extremely pleasant environment.

The Clavadel was my haven of peace and quiet after leaving hospital having had knee replacement surgery. The staff are all wonderful: very experienced, professional, kind and caring. I needed lots of reassurance about my knee and received this 'in spades', even during the middle of the night. The physio is wonderful, ending with the Game Ready machine, which is a fantastic therapy and very relaxing. The food is delicious and I could feel it doing me good - exactly what I wanted during my rehab.
I will always keep fond memories of the wonderful staff and how they helped me. A big "thank you" to The Clavadel.

Two experiences here. Once when I had a horse accident and needed rehab after having three broken limbs last year. The other being my husband who has recently had an operation.
The care from the staff was second to none. Nurses on call and the physio is second to none. Not to mention superb home cooked food and a varied menu you can also have a glass of wine!
Staying away from home when feeling vulnerable can be a stressful experience but The Clavadel take it all in their stride. Nothing is too much trouble. Exceptionally clean and professional yet it feels like a hotel environment. After care is also superb with ongoing physio if required. Thank you to all the staff for your care, compassion and wonderful cake!
