We stayed here with our little boy in the Cavendish Suite. From start to finish everything was perfect. Staff service is exceptional, everyone was so friendly. Particularly the door men! Our room was beautiful and so big, the bed was extremely comfortable. The breakfast was amazing, highly recommend the full English.
I'd definitely come back again. Thank you to everyone who made our stay so wonderful.

Stayed here before a few times , Upon arrival we we greeted and bags were taken to our room that was lovely . Prior to the booking I called to ask about the spar , was a very rude lady on the phone she just answered with hey” moving on check in was great was allowed to go into the room early , the receptionist had a lot to tell us about the building ext and history that was interesting, it was our anniversary and we kindly had a card but was mr and mrs Roberts , ( we aren’t mr and mrs) not a big deal but felt like training needs to be done as that’s an assumption that could make a lot of people upset . Not a big deal . The next day we had breakfast service a little slow but was fine tasty fresh fruit . After we went on a walk and a day out we walked back in to book the spar for the following day and the reception who was extremely rude was being blunt and off with us as we said we wanted to book ext until we mentioned we were staying in the hotel then he changed his attitude up ( yes we were wearing joggers but we just went on a long walk ) don’t judge a book by the cover ) we went for a drink at the bar and we had a few cocktails that were great but seemed a little overpriced £35 for 2 or something along those lines . We ordered room service for breakfast only 40% of the stuff we ordered arrived but just couldn’t be bothered to call up to chase it not going to lie . That morning we went for the spar before checking out , the lady at reception was so lovely and kind but the spar was probably the worst that we ever been to , it was absolutely freezing , walked in and it was colder in there than outside , sauna was broke , steam room was absolutely freezing , foot spar was legit like a sink in the floor , relaxation area “ was Baltic , we did a 360 , felt a bit disappointing this stay I can’t lie , was a special occasion but it’s not a big deal . We did complain and spoke to a manager but nothing really was done about anything would expect something after all off this , not mentioning the cleanliness off the room also hairs in the bed and in the bath ext but didn’t mention this as didn’t want to complain too much but felt like people need to be aware would love to come back as I absolutely love this hotel and have stayed a couple times but felt this time it was not up to scratch would like to have an email to the manger to talk about this would be great

I'm not sure where to start. On attending a very special birthday celebration yesterday, we were somewhat extremely disappointed at the stand of the hotel now, it has definitely declined. We have used this hotel for over 30 years to celebrate different events. This event was prebooked for a very special birthday celebration but we were told at 7.00 pm when ordering our meal that only 4 fillet steaks were available. We were in a party of 18 people and some of us we're disappointed to hear this comment., so early in an evening. The service was extremely slow and when the meals eventually arrived, one had to be returned as it was cold, mine and others were only warm. On visiting the ladies cloakroom during the evening we were somewhat surprised to see the standard of cleaning, there was none... One toilet cubicle the toilet seat was completely off and only balancing on the toilet itself. This standard is not acceptable in this standard of hotel in Chester. Other people in the cloakroom, not in our party, also commented on the standard being so poor. It will be a long time before I recommend this hotel again until i hear standards have improved. The only good side of the evening were the staff, I have no complaints with them except for the extremly slow service from the kitchens.

Upon arrival the doorman and valet parking was excellent. The receptionist was very poor. We arrived in our room with no information about the hotel or what it offered. No idea of the WiFi code whether room service was available or how to adjust the room temperature.|The lighting in the room was so bad I genuinely had to use the torch on my phone to search through my suitcase. And you can’t use the table once it’s dark as there’s no light in that area at all.|Sat in the room I’m assuming there’s a nightclub close as it sounds like there’s a radio on in the bathroom.|Our evening meal was horrible. I had the Cod and I couldn’t eat most of it, was so salty and the chips were hard. Husband said it was the worst steak he’s ever had part of it was raw while other bits were burnt. Honestly we’d of enjoyed our meal more and not come away hungry had we eaten at the weatherspoon.|Breakfast was ok. Not worth the money, service was slow. |Overall I’ve stayed in many many 3 star hotels that looked after you better.|Very disappointing way to waste £1000

Popped in for a cheeky wine with my wife and as ever you enter a calm oasis of old fashioned civility and impeccable service at the best bar in town.....by a million miles. A superb glass of wine sipped at an unhurried pace served by young attentive professional staff. Just..... lovely!

Had an excellent stay at the Grosvenor! Went for my partners birthday on Boxing Day. We had room 320, which has a really fabulous viewpoint! We had the Arkle Restaurant tasting menu - 5 course Boxing Day lunch - which was gorgeous! Room was traditional, cosy and really comfortable. Staff were really helpful, we had a lovely welcome - thank you to the team.|We parked in the Grosvenor Car Park, easy direct access to the hotel from level 2, loved the entrance, really special and lovely!
