staff are very helpful!. I have been coming here now for appointments and family for a few months now. Everytime I have had a concern It has been delt with in a highly professional manor, I find the hospital is quite big. If like me you come here often you can get help with parking from main reception.

The place is kept to a very high clean standard. The only downfall to this hospital is the 2 elevators. During peak hours this can be frustrating and time consuming.

Very heavy handed with patients. Carers prefer playing on their phones instead of assisting with patients needs. Communication poor. Staff are not honest and the treatment my father received was unacceptable. A Cavell carer was reported by a nurse when she felt it necessary to look at photos on her phone instead of helping my father when he was asking her for help. This was after my father fell at Cavell and transferred to PCH on the same day. If he wasn't getting help when asking in the hospital, I don't beleive he had the correct assistance when he fell. These are just a few events that happened.

Thank you to all the staff on Maple ward for looking after my husband who is very poorly. All the nursing staff are so caring. The doctors too were always on hand and listened to us about his care. The ward and Edith Cavell is immaculately clean with a nice airy positive atmosphere. Thank you again for keeping him safe there and being so efficient with his care.

Mistreatment of patients on a huge scale. Now allowing visits to patients who clearly need some care and love from families during a difficult moment in their lives. This place needs to be shut down. Horrible staff!

Had the misfortune of being admitted to the cavell centre, was abused by some staff members, very heavy handed, inject you at will, Even some of the doctors were unprofessional. They liked to involve the police in talking to you rather than dealing with mental health related issues themselves and also just threw medication at you instead of helping in a personal and verbal way. Was farted on by a support worker in PICU, yes a male member staff approached me whilst I was sitting and farted in my face! . Was told by a staff member that I have no human rights, was told that I was crazy twice by two different staff. On one occasion I was restrained and was suffocating when a staff member was pushing down on my neck.
This is only a brief summary, alot more took place, It took me a long time to mentally recover from the whole experience. It was investigated but was an inhouse investigation so was not impartial. They covered up and denied all allegations to protect themselves

Clean state of the art facility. Compares well with Peterborough jail. Another holding place for those marginalised and not given a voice.
Fortunately I escaped that accommodation in an attempt to hold 'Safer Peterborough' to account. Helpful in Peterborough to have 'consultant' status which gives Carte blanche to any form of accountability per se. Goose chases not recommended nor faithful questioning of 'Authority'. Easier to deem citizens mad.
Nevertheless thanks to Dr. Raj from main hospItal recognising my steroid induced 'madness' and on-set of blood poisoning I enjoyed respite at Cavell and avoided meds and injections.
Most mental health in-patients are systematically let down by sign-post and referral and living on the margins in Pottyborough.
