The Boileroom is, simultaneously, a great venue and a frustrating venue.
It has a fantastic and intimate atmosphere, but when it's at capacity, due to the layout, it can be difficult to actually see the band or artist you've come for - the selection of which cannot be faulted.
My advice, if you're going to see a popular or well-known band, is to get there early, claim a spot where you can see the stage, and don't move! This is pretty difficult if you want to go to the bar, get some of the delicious food (served in the garden) or go to the toilet!

I went to see Ariel Posen on his first day of tour in the UK, he clearly felt at home in the Boileroom and I believe it’s a very special place for a lot of musicians.
The atmosphere was great in this urban looking pub/cultural establishment.

Cons: the drinks price is a bit on the high side (over £8 for a pint)

Great small music venue. Intimate would be a good word.. Of course James Taylor Quartet are going to be good anywhere.. but still, the venue is excellent, can't wait to get back.

Great little venue, very friendly staff and a great variety of shows. Parking can be an issue if you don't know Guildford but it's not bad.

I'll definitely be keeping an eye on upcoming shows as ticket prices are reasonable and the venue being small makes for a much more intimate experience, I can't be dealing with massive crowds these days haha!

Who knows, I might even try the food next time!

What a fantastic venue! Saw The Lottery Winners there Sunday afternoon and they as always were great. Loved the venue, four stars only as a "bit hot!" to say the least!

We had an amazing anniversary party at the Boileroom. Char, Bryce and the sound guy were so helpful, professional and friendly, the whole night was chilled and fun. So many of our guests appreciated how friendly Bryce and his bar team were. Our 2 bands said the sound guy was amazing and made the set up, band change and mixing so easy. We asked Paella Fella to do the food, that was great. Char and Bryce made sure they had everything they needed. Can't recommend enough for a well organised but fun night.

This is my favourite concert venue - just a great vibe and they always have something unique and interesting going on. Seen some of my favourite acts here and it's always a blast.

We go here for the music, it's a fantastic little grass roots venue attracting much bigger names than you might expect for its size. It's hot, crowded, and loud, everything it should be!
Food has always been pretty good too when we've eaten before the gig.
