I found this place helpful, very much so. Reception was helpful and polite. Luckily the physiatrist knew straight away the problem. We worked through together. I was listened to.. and my story got heard.. I was always welcomed to come back. I was happy to know this office NHS was only around the corner from me.

If you see this Rob…. ? thank you!!

Don’t waste your time here. Was referred here from my gp due to suicidal thoughts and wanting a diagnosis for a personality disorder. Mandy spoke down to me, misgendered me, spoke over me and my mum, belittled my concerns and essentially told me all my issues were because of me being trans and that I’m too young to have a personality disorder. I got nothing out of that session except an appointment with a psychiatrist, which I had to practically fight for, and am still awaiting my appointment almost 4 months after being there. The mental health service needs better funding, cause if this is the best they can offer people, then no wonder mental health issues have sky rocketed

I have contacted the Bedale centre 8 times. I have been promised someone will call me back or that an appointment letter is in the post all 8 times! I’ve had bad side effects to my medication and have had to stop taking it! It’s just not good enough. I’ve had to resign from my job as they won’t take me back until I have a letter from my psychiatrist that I’m good to work. Well I’m not good to work until they get my meds right!! Literally ruining my life!!

I was referred to The Bedale Centre by St Richard's A&E for suicidal ideation. During my assessment at The Bedale, the woman spoke down to me as if I were a child, spoke over me to the family member who attended, interrupted me several times while I was trying to answer a question, and corrected me over the most minute things. I was sent a letter that summarised the appointment a couple of weeks later, which acknowledged the fact that I don't see myself living for much longer and discharged me in the same breath. Nobody reviewed my medication. I was simply left to rot with no support whatsoever.

What should I do if I have another crisis? Go to A&E and be sent back to the Bedale? To what end?

Don’t go their their only care about numbers! They won’t help you! If your in a crisit they don’t help! How is this place still functioning! A humans health is important and yet they don’t really care! It’s just a job for 90% of Their staff! Please if you need help seek it elsewhere!

Megan my cpn lied and made me feel so small and useless! Her approach was hurtful and uncaring when I tried to kill my self she said she was dealing a crisit so I just hurt my self! And I asked for a new cpn to be told no! Only to find out she went on meternaty leave! all the canceld appointments from her over the year I had no trust in her! Now I need help again I have 0 people to turn to what do I do hope I survive!

I tried to get help over the phone from this place after feeling depressed and suicidal for the past few days. All the duty-worker/lead-practitioner suggested I do was to wait six weeks until my next scheduled appointment with the psychiatrist.
I AM SUICIDAL ffs!
I need someone to talk to + medication advice from an expert.
After going round in circles arguing that they are just a secondary care service she suggested my GP would be better placed to help me.
So let me get this straight, my GENERAL Practitioner is better equipped to advise me on psychiatric medicine than a qualified Psychiatrist?
I know the GP will help me, they always do when they have to pick up the slack Bedale leaves. But they always say that a psychiatrist is better placed to offer advice and prescribe the right medication, before asking me why Bedale couldn't help this time.

Keeps canceling appointments, don't contact you back, inconsistent with appointments, poor communication, would not recommend.
