Patients have praised the clinic for its kind and detailed explanations from staff, such as Nurse Sandra, who provided excellent care during their RSV vaccination. However, some patients have expressed dissatisfaction with the reception staff, citing negative attitudes and a lack of empathy.

One patient noted that the receptionist seemed put off when they inquired about the RSV vaccine, despite being pregnant and clearly qualifying for it. This experience left a negative impression, highlighting the importance of a welcoming and supportive front desk staff.

Despite these mixed reviews, The Alice Medical Centre remains a viable option for those seeking medical care in Nottingham. With its wheelchair accessibility and commitment to patient care, it is essential to weigh the pros and cons of visiting this clinic.

I was seen by Nurse Sandra for my RSV Vaccination, she was so kind to me and explained things in detail , made me feel very comfortable.

The reception staff could do better, every time I visit the practice I sense negative attitude, the last straw was when I enquired about rsv vaccine and the receptionist said “ You have to qualify for it , you don’t just request it “
I feel like a better way to say that would have been “let me see if u qualify to get it “
She could clearly see I’m pregnant and that qualifies me , she just chose to be nasty about it

Waste of time. Paid 30 quid for a letter, original writer didn't bother signing it and for some other doctor to, making it invalid. And then barely writing what I asked for.

Thanks for not even the bare minimum.

I have been with this surgery for 25 years and never had a bad experience. Dr Atiomo and Nursing staff are lovely. Dr Atiomo has been my main GP for many years, she has always been thorough, kind and understanding. The reception staff are always happy to help even when under pressure. I have travelled out of area for years in order to stay with this surgery.

***Tried to complain via NHS Alice Medical centre, but I received a following message that the complaint is so serious that I should make a formal complaint. Therefore they will not publish this complaint or submit to their moderators.***

Unsatisfied experience of pregnant patient.

I am writing to express my profound dissatisfaction with the care I received at Alice Medical Centre. Over an eight-week period, I saw two GPs and one physician who failed to diagnose and treat my UTI (Urinary Tract Infection) properly. Despite my repeated complaints about all the symptoms of a UTI, I was incorrectly prescribed medication for Thrush. As a result, my condition worsened and I am now on my third course of antibiotics, prescribed by Nottingham City Hospital, due to untreated symptoms and positive test results for a UTI.

I am particularly concerned because, as a hematology patient with Immune Thrombocytopenia (ITP), my health requires careful monitoring. My hematologist at the hospital was shocked to find that I had been left untreated when they received the results of my urine sample. The GP at Alice Medical Centre did not contact me despite my significantly elevated leukocyte levels (156 against a normal range of 0-44). When I requested a follow-up call, it was suggested that these elevated levels could be attributed to Thrush. This explanation came five weeks after my initial visit to the GP for UTI symptoms.

The lack of communication and proactive care from Alice Medical Centre has been alarming. They did not follow up with me unless my results indicated an urgent need for attention. After my second course of antibiotics, it was Nottingham City Hospital's Maternity Unit, not my GP, that requested another urine sample and has since been in regular contact regarding my condition. They have now prescribed a third course of antibiotics because the bacteria remained untreated for too long.

Due to the negligence at Alice Medical Centre, I will likely need to remain on medication throughout my pregnancy, which will undoubtedly affect my ITP and future choices of delivering my baby. This situation has caused me considerable distress and concern for my overall health.

Absolutely shocking how the GP have changed now, filled out an appointment request for my son to see the GP only to be referred to the pharmacy if I wanted to see a pharmacist I would have just gone there 1st!! instead of filling out the stupid request form

Been part of the Surgery for years and service over the time has been declining. Had my blood taken recently more than a week ago but no results. Have called them few times and every time there is a promise to find out what happened and absolutely nothing. There is absolutely no sense of concern or responsibility shown by anyone just lame excuses. Really disappointed.

Do not use this surgery. The phamasist thinks she’s a doctor and cannot so simple maths. They don’t want to give you a doctors appointment on the phone, and close ranks when one is wrong.
