Our family has not had a good experience with this surgery in the last year. Earlier this year my husband was told by GP he had a referral to see a specialist. He rang the GP after a few months as he hadn’t been contacted. The receptionist said ‘you were referred in a few months ago, in May’. He rang the specialist hospital who had no record of the referral, so he rang the GP back. He got another receptionist. He told them that the specialist had no record of the referral. The receptionist told him that he had definitely been referred. My husband asked when the referral took place- ‘10 minutes ago’ was the response. The first receptionist had taken the lying route instead of fessing up. This was the second time my husband had been lied to, in similar circumstances.
My two daughters also have found that they are not taken seriously with their symptoms. For one daughter, because the GPs weren’t helpful and seemed to be sceptical of her reports, after nearly a year I went to a private specialist. They told her within 10 minutes what the problem was and how to relieve it through diet and natural routes. We had been to the GP multiple times in the last year and none had any suggestions. It’s quite concerning that they weren’t able to help with something that is actually relatively common and can be simple to treat early on. My other daughter had something else and also felt quite dismissed when reporting her symptoms.
I have specifically mentioned things in the last year that have happened but I would say that the surgery has a better overall feeling than in the past, but it seems they don’t have lots of experience any longer.

I have been a patient here for many years. It has changed during that time but my most recent visits have been excellent. I was lucky enough to see Dr Richardson in person, such a helpful and knowledgeable practitioner. Joan is also fantastic and the receptionists are helpful. Thank you all!

A great surgery. I've never had to wait long for an appointment, the doctors are really helpful and the nurse Jo is brilliant and so perceptive - she noticed I had low blood sugar and referred me to a doctor on the spot and made sure I got an appointment that day. The best GP practice experience I've had in London!

This is not a good surgery , most doctors don’t listen or refer to right departments , the doctor referred me to a different thing completely , they do not know what they are doing
They are very careless , very unhelpful , most of the time they are angry when you talk to them, there is one doctor there that is very bad and vicious , uncaring etc, dr Edwin even laughed at my condition.

Reception/ practice manager is very kind and helpful. It can be frustrating trying to see a GP and I was palmed off a few times but eventually the practice/reception manager did call me and arrange an appointment and was reassuring. I also saw a great nurse who could not have been kinder or more helpful.

The new team at 157 Medical Practice are brilliant. I stopped going to the doctors under the previous regime but my recent experiences there have been excellent. The front of house team are really friendly and very helpful and the practitioners that I’ve met so far have been great, particularly Dr Richardson.

I’m really grateful to have them as my local GP surgery.

I have been with this surgery for many many years and I am liking the new direction that this new team is going. I have found the reception team nice and approachable. I would like to give a special thanks for the reception manager SOHIBA. What a wonderful and extremely helpful person. I had an admin query that I really needed to sort out on behalf of my mother. Sohiba took it upon herself to go beyond her duty to help me, which I greatly appreciated. A very approachable person who showed empathy and care in handling my query. I would also like to thank Dr Marina Dalziel who is also such a wonderful and approachable person. Thank you for taking the time to really attend to my mother's concern and helping us with our admin query last month. Overall, our family are very happy with the surgery's services. Thank you 🙂

I have been prompted to leave this review, mainly because of a very comprehensive diabetes review I recently received at the practice, but also because I have always received excellent help and support from all the people I have had contact with at the practice. All in all, I am confident that I am receiving the very best healthcare from the practice, which is hugely reassuring.
