Had mri on lumbar spine January 2025. I was a little concerned due to the negative review left by Les Podraza a year ago. I was sent here by GP as an NHS patient. There were 2 radiographers in the room, one very welcoming and smiley, the other ok, but slightly less so. Went ok as I’m not claustrophobic. Asked for music which didn’t happen, but ok a very small thing, neither did I get an explanation of bulb put in my hand to stop it if I was unhappy but I’d looked on YouTube so knew what it was for. I wondered if they thought I’d had previous scans so knew what it was for so didn’t complain, overall 4/5 experience. However today I am less happy. MRI written report went to GP but not images, I put in a request for this. I know they have 28 days to send but today, after 11 days I did send a polite chaser as need them for a clinical appt. I got a brusque voicemail back saying they would try but couldn’t promise. Fair enough, I am not an unreasonable person, I wasn’t asking for it that instant,but it was the tone of person speaking that was so poor. Is it because I’m NHS? In the time it took to leave the rather lengthy message I bet the info could have been sent. Politeness is free! Attitude is everything! You may have been really busy or having a bad day but when the patient is made to feel like a complete nuisance they withdraw. So Tees Valley Hospital, I am thinking of going private, you were on my list if I need surgery, not now, due to this one individual who has put paid to that. I’ll go somewhere I feel welcome and valued in exchange for your fee. Goodbye….Update - I have now received said images by email. However I haven’t changed my mind about being upset by the tone of the voicemail. Score of 3/5 stands

The team at tees valley were amazing. I'm someone that suffers from really bad panic attacks and they all made me feel at ease, especially Rachel who held my hand all the way through the procedure and talked to me while I was nervous before hand. Mr Hawkins was such a a nice bloke too, making me feel at ease from the first appointment. I didn't get the other women's name but she was lovely too. The only thing Id say they could improve on , is telling people they will be in at least an hour before their surgery. I wasn't advised this and I'm guessing a lot of others weren't as they were complaining about lifts waiting for them. I was lucky that I had someone looking after my boy who had extra time than expected. Not a big complaint just advice so the reception staff don't get any chew off people in the future. Lovely and clean hospital

Emergency admission following 10 seizures. Awoke after 4 days in ICU then transferred to ward 27. What fantastic treatment received from all staff and cannot praise them highly enough for their care and professionalism. Still, in the nicest possible way I hope to never meet them again.

I had plastic surgery on 21st January & the care I’ve received is second to none!
All staff involved with my care whether it be admin team, medical secretaries, private team, catering, health care, housekeeping, nurses & consultant have all been fantastic. Providing me with all information I could ever ask for & even offering care that I didn’t ask for. They all went above & beyond to make my journey as smooth sailing as possible.
The food is impeccable & the care offered is something I’ve never experience before. Nothing was ever too much to ask & they all did it with a smile on their faces!
Could I also add that I’m very grateful to Mr Bassett’s secretary who was able to have my clinical letters typed as quickly as possible so that I was able to make an informed decisions on the procedure I eventually chose!
I would 1000% recommend Tees Valley Hospital & especially Mr Bassett (plastic surgeon) to anyone, his work is amazing I’m soo happy with my results!

Lovely experience,and hard to put into words what such kindness meant to me.
From Dc Brock and his team who stayed on, so they could mend my hurting hip, to the 2 amazing night nurses who had both me and my roommate howling with laughter and showed us helpful ways to ease difficult manoeuvres.
The constant genuine concern over our pain levels, and quick effective relief was first class aftercare.
An amazing, warm and friendly atmosphere, given by a first class team working hand in hand.

I had hip replacement surgery with Mr Hui and his team in March. The staff were kind, caring and attentive and I was made to feel at ease from initial consultation through to discharge and physio.

The food was lovely with a good choice and freshly made. The nurses were friendly and helpful.

I'm now eight weeks post-op and pain free.

A big thank you to all staff involved with my care.

11/12/24 l been through with bunion surgery..I need to say the experience was fantastic.. never feld anything everything it was very smooth and professional.The staff waterfall so careing and helpful Amazing...
The surgeon doctor.. fantastic mr.Rafai..not even took pain killers after the surgery.. The anesthesia Lady doctor... excellent..so smooth...!!! No site effects nothing... just like normal sleep....I will like to thank you all

I had a procedure yesterday (2.10.24) in Urology. The staff were very friendly from walking through the doors until discharge. I want time a massive thank you to MrJesuraj who was my consultant, Mohammed, my anesthetist who put my mind at rest and was so calming, David, theatre nurse for his humour , kindness and support and to the nurses in recovery as they were amazing and informed me all I needed to know before I left. I already feel well, and following the healing instructions, I will feel 100% in no time. I can't thank the staff enough for their kindness, teamwork, professional and friendly approach to my care. You are all amazing!
