I encountered a comparable situation. Despite waiting for several months, I was summoned to an appointment in Newton Abbot, where I was informed that assistance was beyond their capabilities. The individual I spoke with exhibited a mechanical demeanor, devoid of any emotional connection or empathy. She suggested a facility in Exeter that actually did not provide counseling services. Consequently, I was compelled to independently seek assistance. This approach represents a deplorable and indolent manner of treating vulnerable individuals who are already on the verge of despair.

I felt compelled to communicate this experience as I subsequently discovered alternative support services in Torquay. I provided the unhelpful individual with a list of these services in the hope of aiding others. Really poor service. Took 7 months of assessments to be told that they did not support my needs and they felt emailing a list of other services, some in Exeter the best they could offer, none of which have open waiting lists was a solution. Felt really let down. There are such poor services through the whole of Devon, it's diabolical.
