Really cannot thank the therapists that helped me enough, they made me feel comfortable talking about sensitive issues. Never felt rushed and phone calls were very well planned to make sure the time was spent well. It’s really helped me move forward in the right direction. I will be forever grateful.

This May be a god send to many people, but in my experience with this counselling I have had an awful long process . The counsellor was very sterile, very much aware of time constraints, and reminded me on a few occasions, which made me feel like I was wasting their time, and I felt really uncomfortable , so I talked quickly and kept apologising for no reason. Unfortunately The problem was never concluded. They were trying to do the right thing to the wrong person.

I liked the way Talkplus had options for which therapy would suit. I chose to go down the path of online therapy, as my life was hectic, yet had an assessor always there for me if I needed help. I then had the option to request 1-2-1 therapy should I need it later but I didn't. The online course worked well for me. My daughter also received excellent 1-2-1 CBT from 'T' at TalkPlus. He was very good and I'm very grateful to him for helping her so much. Thank you to everyone involved.

I found the whole process to be so helpful, calming and educational. I liked how I had three options on how to proceed with getting help, and everyone that I spoke to was incredibly kind, empathetic and professional. If you want to learn how to manage your own behaviour and emotions, CBT with TalkPlus is so helpful and supportive. Couldn't recommend them enough.

I have experienced different types of mental health therapies and therapists over the years. The treatment I was supposed to be given was 50 minutes of CBT per session. The therapist gave me some handouts every session and briefly went over them and I was out the door within 15-20 minutes. It felt like the therapist couldn’t get me out the door quick enough. The therapist failed to really understand my issues and just rushed things too much. Subsequently I lost confidence in the CBT therapist and will not be continuing my treatment with this service.

Kind people doing the best they can. I feel that the assessment process could be improved by assessing an individual on two or three different occasions to improve accuracy of referrals and outcomes. Perhaps rather than one sixty minute preliminary assessment, two half an hour assessments by different assessors or three assessments of twenty minutes for example.

update
Although unhappy with initial outcome management called me back within the same day of me offering feedback. I am pleasantly surprised with the responsiveness of management and although the outcome may not change, I have changed my rating from three to four stars.

*second update*
I was under the impression TalkPlus does not discriminate due to diagnosis but after receiving a letter clearly stating they were unable to offer support partly due to my diagnosis, I am not so sure. I have changed to three stars again due to the inconsistent representation.

Terrible communication, impossible to book appointments, not fit for purpose.
Advised to self refer to Talk Plus by my gp so that is what I did. Problems from the start. First they kept calling me on the wrong phone number, I requested they called my landline as I was home and mobile reception very bad, they kept phoning the mobile and having to call back. On initial assessment they couldn't explain why I had been asked to fill out their assessment survey twice (2 days running) in fact they didn't know I had so clearly not worth filling in at all. Was put on waiting list for face to face counselling. Couple of months later a phone call while I am at work, unable to take the call due to being at work I ask if I can call back and am told I can. I phone back later same day and get a recorded message to say they aren't accepting phone calls but I can leave a message. I leave a message with my number asking for someone to call again. No one called back.
Couple of weeks later I get text message offering an appointment, I respond to accept but am told it is no longer available. New text with new appointment offer, by time I see text and respond (Being at work I can't read and respond to texts straight away) but again told appointment has gone. It seems they send the same appointments out to several people and whoever replies first gets the appointment so if you can't reply to texts quickly you will never get an appointment. I express my concern that I can't get an appointment this way via text and later receive an email which I respond to. Over a week later no further communication at all!
No idea what the counselling may be like as is impossible to access it due to terrible communication and a ridiculous booking system.
