My deepest gratitude for the exceptional care and expertise you provided during both my total knee replacement surgeries over the past 18 months.

The decision to undergo this procedure was not an easy one, but your professionalism, compassion, and reassurance made the journey much smoother. The quality of care I received from your entire team, from the initial consultations to the post-operative follow-ups, has been outstanding.

The positive impact on my life has been tremendous. I am now able to enjoy activities that I had previously thought were no longer possible. Your dedication and skill have truly made a difference in my life, and for that, I am incredibly thankful.

Please extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone involved in my care eg. my nurses both night and day......

Radiology....Philipo
Anesthetist Gareth,

Your team's kindness and support have been invaluable throughout this process.

9th March 2021 was my OP ever. I was nervous but that went away from how great the team are. My room was immaculately clean/spacious. The surgical Mr Ahmed team were professional/helpful also calmed me down during the process of the OP.

I know it's my first time here but I will always reccomend them because frankly, their first impression has shined through and everyone working here go above/beyond their care of duty for you.

10 out of 5.

You are indeed in safe hands here.

Absolutely awful service , my partner had an operation firstly he was told the wrong time for surgery by the pre op nurse so he didn’t eat after 10pm the night before when he could have eaten up until 7 am the next morning so he was becoming unwell as he needs food to stay well this went unnoticed by staff , secondly he was left for hours waiting around with no communication, thirdly he was told he could go home in a taxi the same day alone by the pre op nurse but then was told he couldn’t even though the taxi service were fine with it and so then discharged himself anyway , he also hasn’t noticed any difference in the surgery.
Totally rubbish service never ever using again avoid at all costs.
Two nurses were really unhelpful on the phone even though my partner stated he wanted to leave.
Then he was told to have someone at home for 24 hours , it’s not like people have to work or anything totally stupid rules, glad we haven’t listened to be honest and glad we never have to go back there.

Saw Dr Shankar as an NHS patient. Was in and out within five minutes.Did a quick examination and said I needed a septoplasty. The website says this operation requires an overnight stay.He says it will be done as a day case. He tells me I can take ibuprofen for pain as I cannot process paracetamol. I now understand this is not a good idea as it can make any post operative bleeding worse. He also told me to go on the NHS website to see what the operation entails. The letter to my GP says he explained it to me. I received a phone message from a lady in the NHS team asking me to phone. I wanted to talk to someone to express my concerns about having an operation before simple solutions are explored.I have so far phoned on six separate occasions at different times and am greeted with a mail box.I did on one occasion hear someone talking so they are there but don't pick up the phone. You might get a better standard of care if private , who knows but it is a risk I am not prepared to take.Receivd another message today from another member of staff, to ring I rang and wss.greeted by another mailbox, left a message saying i am declining the surgery

Still the same poor levels of NHS service, chaos and apathy - only slightly quicker and overpriced. I’ve now used a completely private hospital nearby a few times and Sussex Premier a couple of times. There is no comparison. Sussex Premier bring all that people are trying to avoid in the NHS to their private services too. Staff didn’t know processes, simple billing was made unbelievably complex and riddled with errors. Communication with their finance team was virtually non existent. Just poor. In contrast a completely private hospital I used about 40 minutes away was the total opposite - friendly, helpful staff, clear processes and billing. And actually cheaper than Sussex ‘Premier’ health too. Will never use Sussex again if there is an alternative elsewhere and do not recommend them or this terrible NHS Trust.

Cannot fault the care I have received from SPH. Every single member of staff that I had contact with was polite, caring and attentive. I was very nervous about my surgery but all three nurses that cared for me were absolutely spot on and couldn't have been nicer. All of my care has been excellent and a special mention to the surgeon who has been exceptional. As a patient, you feel really looked after.

Absolutely perfect care
The two nurses I had were very caring and made me feel at ease..
I had high anxiety when I first went in but that soon went as I was treated with kindness and they also explained everything to me..
The surgeon Dr Aldridge was also brilliant and is a great surgeon who also explained everything to me as well as the anesthetist..
The room was very clean the sandwiches were very enjoyable ? I didn’t have to ask for anything at all they was very very responsive to their patients..
I am now recovering at home and knowing that I have the full support of the hospital if I have any concerns!
Thank you all once again ❤️

In for an inguinal hernia op. Lovely staff, all very friendly. Systems are efficient, to a degree. Once they'd got the right person's paperwork, we were off!
Aftercare is exemplary, detailed and followed up.
One star dropped for the mild distress coming out of general anaesthetic. They'd dosed me as being 55kg bigger than I am and needed a second "wake up shot".
