Dear Sophie,
I hope you don’t mind me emailing you, you don’t know me but I was at butlins this week with my daughter, who is autistic and has brain damage. I also until recently taught 16+ adults with learning disabilities at the local college here in Devon, running a cafe.
I spoke to one of the staff there from your company, who told me she had organised the trip to butlins.
I watched all the staff over the few days and felt compelled to speak to you.
I was quite emotional watching them to see how positive they were with the clients ( sorry my daughter is called a client in her residential home)
They helped all of them to have the best time, and could tell all your staff had empathy with them, and really cared.
I know carers don’t always get the recognition that they deserve. Your staff were so good ,but I’m sure will be exhausted by now. An absolute credit to your company.
My daughter has just moved in to a residential home, but it has taken 17 years for me to feel like she is leading the best possible life, and that’s primarily down to the staff in the home.
I also had an archery lesson with my daughter and Ben also had a lesson, the young lady who stayed with Ben was amazing, who helped him and kept him focused.
I just felt it needed to be said.
