UPDATED December 2023.
My father has been at this hospital for around 15 years, which he suffers from Huntington disease and currently on the end of life path way.
I have to give credit where credit is due. previously before 2020 this hospital was below a standard that I would give a 2 star rating. However, since Fiona Box took over in 2020 and is now run be Ginette, I believe there has been a great improvement in care and how the hospital is run.

I find there current CQC report miss leading, although I do not disagree with the overall rating given.

At times the hospital can be unclean, but not always.
I disagree with their visiting policy and you shouldn’t have to make an appointment to see your loved ones unless there is an infection out break.

Since Covid staff training wasn’t as up to date as it should have been, but again this has slowly improved with time.
I find the staff approachable and are able to be contacted a lot easier than previously.

Should I ever wish to raise a safeguard concern, I am aware of how to do this, as this is highlighted within the reception area.

My rating represents this review.

Great healthcare generally, friendly staff and good facilities. However, I agree with Adrian, it is almost impossible to speak to any management about the care of my mum. Have only actually spoken to her doctor once and she has been in for just over six months now. Need to drastically improve communication, it was very difficult to get in contact with my mum when she had her phone taken off her, only improved once I reported to nurses. Me and other relatives have tried to get contact with the doctor to arrange for her to come out over Christmas and New year over a month before, but have never got a response, at all, from the doctor.

Rude and passive carers, have close friends who have stayed here in the past and have found it a difficult experience to stay in. Gross living conditions and no locks on toilets for privacy.
